They tried to use me after Mom died. They all wanted to come to her house for her belongings. I gave them one item each although they wanted more. The rest went to the thrift shop. Best decision I ever made. I never heard from them again.

I agree with you Tyler, and your on point about everything. 😊👍 Some people will use you, not treat you right, etc. You have to cut them off. That's why I keep my circle of friends small. The smaller the better so you don't have drama, stress, etc.

Everyone I knew was calling like this "how are you doing ... Do you think you can give me a ride ..etc." I no longer answer calls from people I once knew and seldom ever family and they get told no so they don't ask anymore. I am no longer a people pleaser. My one old friend would vanish when they hit the lottery or car broken down but as soon as they broke...etc they call me for help.

Here's one: When you become very successful. Let's say you make it to NBA and you get a multi million dollar contract and endorsements. All of a sudden, your relatives and folks who didn't want to have anything to do with you want to get close to you. Where were they at when you were going through the process? But they want to come alongside when you reap the harvest. I've seen situations similar to this happen one too many times. Got to keep your circle small and tight.
