I noticed that in high school. In high school I had a phony friend ( light skinned with long hair) that would brag about how many guys were interested in her & gossip / talk about others all the time. Needless to say I cut my dealings after 5 or 6 months because it got annoying.

Some people just have you around to make them feel better about themselves. They don’t expect you to start leveling up. Once you do it makes them feel uncomfortable about themselves. I think we need to realize that these so called friends are really narcissists. It took me a long time to figure it out because of being so kind to them. I treat people the way I would like to be treated so I try to be kind and honest. The one sided friendship for years would call and talk for hours and when I said one word they would interrupt about themselves or immediately say they had to go. I counted years before I realized that that person never asked me how I was doing-ever! That was no friendship and They didn't even know simple things about me when I questioned them yet I knew everything about them. Cut out those relationships before they bleed you dry!

I just cut someone out of my life.. she wasn't a true friend. But I told her the reason why I stopped talking to her it's because my family emergency issue and my kids. My mom and dad said delete her number and block her on Instagram. In a matter fact I am about to delete my Instagram sooner or later..

I have a friend like that! I know her since 2001, she don't give a f... about me when I tried to talk to her or send her a message she tooks 2 weeks to reply or never. Then I saw her on FB, whatsapp or even watching my snaps!!! (Oh YEAH she's more interested about everything I post online than talking to me) Sometimes it really important but she don't care even when I talk to her.... I'm dealing with physical and emotional pain every time I try to talk to her about it she talk about herself and her problems! Omg this. I just had to cut one of these people out. I had to contact mutual friends individually because he had started spreading the idea im a bad person and do shady stuff. The real truth is he became jealous over a girl, started doing a bunch of passive aggressive attacks on me, culminated with him telling my boss and coworker im a bad employee. I confronted him that I couldnt believe all this bs was over a girl. I think that clicked for him because shes not going to give him any so why throw our friendship away? Short sighted..

I find that out about certain friends by me going through something, an no calls nothing but they all on my IG or whatever and this happened by me getting myself together, loving me i just started cutting off people wish them best in life no ill will. Just not meant to be in my life. I told the truth to my one sided friendships and they refused to hear it, and I didn't gossip behind they back. The people actually tried to attack me. I told my one sibling that she was holding all the most precious stuff of our mothers after she died and it's is not fair and wrong and she came at me physically and wanted to fight. She was holding all our mom's stuff favorite stuff she carried with her and reassured. I tried to tell my cousin that it wasn't right that she expected all of us to show love to her and her kids which we did but she didn't return it, and she got violent. Tyler, some people are narcissist and will get violent if you tell them.

I have a friend like this, she has recently done some terrible things to me and I was at the point of talking to her but she just does not seem approachable. I am not the kind of friend to go behind backs and gossip. I did not agree with her on doing something she wanted and she avoided me for weeks, she was trying to control me and I finally woke up and stopped it. This cause the change in her. She has become very passive aggressive towards me so how can I approach someone like this. I would not hesitate talking straight to any of my other close friends but she seems different. Its as if I have seen her for what she is and she is unhappy about it. We have only been friends just over a year but I slowly began to realise she made me feel drained and I lost track of time with her. I met another friend through her and she is different. She encourages and makes me feel good. Whereas the one I write about does none of this and it seems she just uses me when she needs. Even though in the beginning she seemed supportive she has used it for her gain. Thanks again Tyler x

my cousins were like this. they were always quick to msg me when we would plan a weekend for fun but when my grandma passed from my other side they didn't check up on me or even call me . but they msgd me and commented as soon as they heard saying sorry which was nice! .but after that I didn't hear a peek from them at all , even tho I msgd seeing if they wanna chat lol. but 2 weeks later they all wanna video chat me just cos they all in the video :L I Kindly said its fine I thin its be a fake chat and said god bless. I always felt weird energy from them. even one of them would say im dressed up when im wearing a pair of jeans have a coat on and nails done for the first time ever and im a 23 year old female! mind u most of them are older than me too. How about when people are seem to try to support but you do almost 99 percent of contact initiation. They give you things sometimes they do favors without getting anything in return. Is that a onesided relationship. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT ME AND TRY TO GUIDE ME BUT THEY DO NOT TRY TO CONTACT ME

They may feel as though you won’t answer their calls/texts. I was in a situation where I did a lot for a friend without getting anything in return. She would rarely answer my calls, so I stopped calling her. We only talked when she called me because that seemed to be the only time she was available. Try to make sure that person knows that they can reach out to you without feeling like a burden. I loved/love her a lot, but it’s not a good feeling when you go out of your way for someone who only talks to you on their terms.

Thank you for talking about this Tyler, at some point I can tell you getting upset and even raising your voice a bit, I took it as you giving me advice and nagging me on the way I keep pursuing one-sided friendships.
