I've been fishing jerk baits since before they were called "jerk baits". Probably the early 70's, when my Dad started taking me fishing. This video has shown me more about jerk baits than I thought I needed to know in the first place. Thanks. 👍🇺🇸

Jerkbait is my most productive bait when it comes to most fish caught for me. The idea you can use it all year round and you can change the cadences of the retrieve during the season change it will always be my go to bait

So since I mainly fish ponds with with bluegills and crappie as the Largies diet. Should I not fish jerkbaits in ponds as much? Never really had faith in my jerkbait skills, but I wanna use them more if I should.

You use the fast action rather than a moderate with the jerk bait so that you can work it better.

Don’t over look your shad shaped. Suspending baits. Like rapala glass raps amongst others can be good too. And you just wanna pull let sit. Pulls let sit. Slaughtered walleyes and pass on that also. Just saying.
