Seems to me those who preach the bible understand it the least, or have forgotten its most fundamental beliefs. I absolutely hated god for a long time because of those people. Luckily, i found my way back to the light. Nobody pushes people farther from religion than jesus's own congregation. Lord knows, ill never understand it.

@@bornfree8073 You didn't find the right preacher or congregation, they're the hardest part of Christianity to find, but my preacher not only gave his all for 3 years to drag me to a church but he's been my great friend, teacher, and light for over 4 years now and trust me, he's make me any hundreds other cry of conviction one minute and cry in thanks for having a merciful and gracious God the next, he's the best preacher and Southern Baptist I've ever met

Anybody wants to listen to incredible Southern Gothic music thats also religious, listen to 16 Horsepower(I could name a few others too). Cool though that Southern Gothic is becoming more known and mainstream. The lyrics and visuals of this video certainly capture the vibe but I was not expecting those type of vocals and the way it was styled.

This is awesome! I love bluegrass, but all the fans here complaining that he's doing something different must have forgot his work with Avicii, or the electric stuff he has done with Alison Krauss. I read your interview with NPR, and absolutely had to have a listen to this album. I hadn't made the connection that you sung on the O Brother soundtrack that I loved so much, as well as "Hey Brother" with Avici. That being said; this album is absolutely AMAZING. This song is flawless. This entire album is so full of evocative imagery, and your use of electronic elements is just enough not to overwhelm your musical roots. I'd love to see more of this project.

This video is pure art! The lyrics as well. The symbolism is amazing too. This is such a great embodiment of the Deep South as a whole. My family is very southern. My father was a lawyer/politician God rest his soul. My uncle is a preacher he is a very good man. In my father's family you either became a lawyer or preacher. It is interesting to think about. I prefer his more traditional music with Union Station, but I also love this! Yes, it has a much more modern feel than what I'm accustomed to, but there is still a powerful message behind it. In my opinion, that's something that a lot of country musicians are missing these days.

Grew up in Florida and knew a lot of folks like this. I got out and moved out West working in mining. I guess New Mexico is home for now.

That video was AWESOME. I LOVE the good/evil girls and the use of mirrors here is incredible. That part where the mirror is hanging and his reflection is in it was such a beautiful shot.
