The tymo looks more poofy than the other to me Update: I ended up buying both and trying them both out for myself and the rifny does a way better job than the tymo. I also noticed that the tymo straightener pulled my hair way more than the rifny straightener I ended up gifting the tymo to my friend who has less course hair than me and keeping the rifny for myself 😁

I bought the TYMO because of this video! I can't wait to use it, it just came in the mail today 😍. UPDATE: I used it!! (I realized after the fact that I accidentally bought the newer model, not this exact one ugh) So ...I love the product but I don't like how hard it is to cleam. I straighten my hair about once a year because I get the crispiest ends when I do, I always have to chop off 2 inches, because there's no recovering the hard crispy ends after flat ironing (yes, with a fine comb in front). That being said, I wanted to give this a go. Wow the ends are just as, if not softer than, the rest of my hair. This didn't leave the ends crispy at all. I can't stop touching my hair, it's so damn soft. My hair is a little curlier than yours and I used it at 390 degrees and I did one pass on each section, somewhat slowly but not as slow as I would go with a flat iron. I held it upwards instead of pulling down and I have so much volume. I am quite impressed. Like I said though, it's HARD to clean. I found that a pipe cleaner from the craft store works perfectly to get in the grooves. Even though I don't straighten my hair too often, the fact that my ends are not crispy whatsoever is enough reason for me to keep it. At $50 you can't beat that. I'm glad I came across this video. I've actually straightened my hair three more times since this post because I'm that impressed with how good my hair feels after it's straightened.

The Ripley had the comb on the back side so you can wrap the hair around it so you can do barrel curls of just bend the ends of the hair to smooth them. Maybe that's why it didn't come with a glove because you are suppose to do a veritable parting then bend the ends around the back of the heat tool which would straighten/bend and smooth the ends better.

The aim of a straightening tool should be to help the to straighten the hair but also reduce the frizz & split ends and reduce the damage that heating can cause. You hair looks pretty healthy in your natural state, In my opinion your curly hair is beautiful. You must have a 3b curly hair. My concern with this brushes is that you passed them through your hair more than one time and one of those time was at 450 degrees. That kind of heat can damage the cuticle of your hair. I understand that curly hair needs mostly higher temperatures to straighten the hair, but should be with one pass or two only with that temperature. Flat irons specially the professional ones are designed to Straight your hair, tame the curls and reduced most of the frizz. The flat irons temperatures are designed with those plates to give an even Straightener to the hair strains. The brushes are designed to Straight your hair in a quicker time, but without loosing all the volume of your hair. The brushes actually are better for fine and wavy hair because helps them keep volume. But in my opinion the thickest and curly hairs if they want a straight hair with less damage should go with the flat iron. You did notice that your hair stated to look freeze minutes after your straightened it, that is because the even the temperature are the same of a flat iron their design is not to keep those strains flat but with volume.

Her ends were "blah" bc she used a straightener. That device is not meant to seal or curl your ends. As someone with naturally curly hair I can tell you that at home plug in devices will never keep your hair super straight like what a trained hair stylist can do in the salon. Julissa was sweating and getting hot bc she could probably cook a meal on that straightening comb! I have tried straightening my own hair with expensive ceramic seal, diamond crusted, metal plate flat irons only to go outside into the real world and get that wonderful PUFF that happens with naturally curly hair. IDK what they are doing in the salon that can't be done @ home, but it just never works or lasts when I do my hair @ home. These are ZOOM ready, quarantine devices. Your hair will look amazing for a one hour ZOOM meeting and that's about it. Don't go outside in August Miami heat!
@kelseydamons43362 жыл бұрын
Tip: Test the brands that worked best for Julissa's hair. Do research on how hair stylists straighten. It might be small and critical things that you have missed. The quality of your hair products, especially leave ins, are VERY important. Lastly, unfortunately sometimes it isn't a matter of having curly hair but having damaged hair that expensive tools can't manipulate anymore because the chemical &/or heat damage shows through. Hope this helps :)

I have the same hair. I usually add straightening protective serum as I'm straightening and then when I'm done. I let it cool off then add jojoba or argan oil and restraighten it . I straighten my hair in the evening then make sure my hair is flat under me when I sleep. I'm the morning, depending how dry my hair is, I may add just a touch more oil to it and seal it in with the straightener again. I know it's a lot of work, but once you get used to it. It goes pretty quickly.

I noticed that when you used the Rifny @ 450 it looked like there was a little smoke coming from your hair. I also agree with Kitty Kat it's not good for your hair to have a couple of passes at that high heat...you're going to dry your hair out and possibly get split ends...just a thought.
@FoolSmG5 жыл бұрын
Double fist with a comb in the other hand so you can pick up your hair with your comb and separate the strands. Then you don't have to put your hands directly on your hot hair. Those gloves are difficult to use anyway. You have to bend your wrist towards the end so you ends curl in or out. Whichever is your preference. It won't curl the ends automatically you have to assist the iron.
