Tyne Dock Re-Build Part 4. The Entrance No 426.

This week we focused on the entrances to the station. which was a bit of a challenge. one of which we managed to complete. the other entrance we will continue with next week. As for the platform that will still need some additional work before we can permanently fix it to the baseboard. Hi five to all the loco drivers...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are a genius Tony. There's a part on my layout where I'd like to build a station for my DMUs to stop at but because it is in a tight spot, 4 inches above the main level, there was no where to build an entrance or exit to it. Your work here has given me a great idea. I hope you don't mind me using it. Thanks for a great video.

Soon with all these hidden features you are going to forget what is on this stunning layout! My advert was for a Makita 10 inch hand held circular saw, so was my goodness it’s going to be major surgery ahead - makes me wonder about profiling and use of AI on examining video content/ audience etc! That really is a masterclass in modeling, love your vision Tony, yes I agree it is a lot of work but it's so worth it. The entrances look superb. I love the way you do your handrails they look second to none. It was a bit of a shock to learn the entrances and the subway on the platform were not connected 😂😂 but hayho. The light in entrance is prefect just the right amount of light. Looking forward to seeing the entrance finished, and what's next for Tyne Dock. Down here in South Devon, I unfortunately have been a bit under the weather, and had quite a rough week, managed to get a appointment yesterday with a doctor (yes I know) and I've managed to pick up chest infection so it's antibiotics for me. Dear Tony, absolutely awesome those two subway entrances for the Tyne Dock Station! Love how you did and showed the color matching of the stone work. Little bit tedious to do those arches, but the results look simply amazing. Beautiful how the Station Road entrance breaks up the wall and adds new dimension to the once flat wall. Don’t wanna press you into anything, but am just wondering what the natural light feature would do to the subway entrance space when the staircase up the platform would be open. Might be too much of a challenge though. Love the color you used on the platform. Never seen that brand of enamel paint. Very interesting how the paint flows and at the same time isn’t completely opaque, through which those different shades emerge. Have a great weekend! Cheerio

Good evening Vincent. it was the only way to gain space for the new buildings for where the old station use to be. which will give a whole new look to the tyne dock area once completed. the underpasses wont be opened up. as the level of work needed to do that would a whole new baseboard. but it was in my thoughts originally. its a small compromise to the original station. many thanks again. cheer's for now Tony.

I think the arches look very effective. I hope the passengers appreciate all of your work. I expect Thora Herd will be offering Mr What's Is Name some tripe and onions from a cooking pot, perched on Smokey Joe's bicycle propped up against the wall outside the station. I dare say he will be consulting with Bamber Gasgoine, following his careful inspection of the number of stones used and making sure the cement is left in place. Hopefully the Vicars wife will not be to peeved if she takes a tumble, and drops her bundle of Joe Grundy's second hand socks, because Mrs Simms accidently bumps into her, after one to many, as she scuttles through the archway.

Hi Tony, The new entrances are brilliant, a lovely piece of modelling. My grandson was quite impressed. He's been doing some kit building of houses ready for his 009 layout. He's also been working on his next video and spent well over an hour filming 20 seconds of stop-motion animation, too, add to the rest of his video footage of the trains running. So watch out for that one. Hopefully, it'll be coming soon. I've only seen the stop-motion bit of filming and have had to watch it several times to spot everything he's got moving. Hi Tony. Excellent work on these subway entrances. They really do look the part. As for your soldering , you can buy solder in a variety of melting points. You can use hi melting point for the first step and lower melting point for the second, knowing that you should be safe when it comes to not melting the soldering you first did. Should really have a thermostatic iron too, with adjustable temperature setting, to be safe. Hope you and Mrs T have a nice weekend. Best, Jason.

Nice work on both entrances. I especially like the way they've blended in to the existing walls. Given the restricted view to the one under the bridge, might a couple of strategically placed passengers further block your view and cut down on the work required? Cheers
