Type 2 Diabetes: This is What a Year on Mounjaro Looks Like
Here I am, a year after starting Mounjaro to manage my Type 2 Diabetes.
When I stepped into the office of my endocrinologist, Dr. Madera in Port Charlotte, Fla., last June, I had no idea how much my life was about to change. My A1C was slowly creeping up and I thought I'd be placed on insulin to manage it.
Instead, I was pulled off one diabetes medication, I remained on Metformin, and began my journey on Mounjaro. Wow! What a difference this medication has made in my life.
Sure, you can see there's less of me but in a way, I feel more seen.
In the past year, I've endured the pandemic - and finally getting Covid - a Cat 4/5 hurricane (Ian), two national news television appearances, my video on Dr. Phil, the Buffalo blizzard, loss of 60 lbs. (!!!) and growth of my KZbin channel. Thanks for being with me along the way!
You can't see how my A1C has lowered from 8.2 to 6.1. How my blood pressure and cholesterol numbers are better. How my non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has reversed. How I have more energy and yes, a newfound confidence.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life and yours. Carpe diem!
