I think as slow as it is, and decreased gun performance, increasing turret armor to damn near impenetrable is a reasonable trade off. Worst issue is getting penned through mantlet with little to no other redeeming qualities.

This tank's cooldown is fixed and not affected by reloader. Therefore, when using a reloader, there is a strange characteristic that the gap between cooldown and reload time becomes wider.

I did not mind this tank for randoms. (For anything competitive it was uber trash since people are way more likely to overpeek and clap your upper plate. While you have to aim for their lower instead kind of defeating the extra depression profit.) My biggest gripe is that it felt waiting for the extra accuracy was mostly not worth it cause it simply was not accurate enough. Having to wait just to constantly miss is the most frustrating thing ever. Especially since the gun only has an avarage 400 alpha anyways. Secondly comes the speed. 35 is just criminal for a tank with such low armor. While i do not say it should be moving like a medium 40 is a perfect spot. Just like the premium which i very much like. I do not mind to have a heavy in the game that pretty much acts like a sniper that trades camo for better armor and can still opt to take closer positions. The accuracy does not mean it should only snipe but allows for better chances to hit weakspots at closer range too after all. As you said in this video. Buffing accuracy on tanks is also a curse cause people will be more likely to snipe from the redline. But honestly. Seeing Minotauro's, E3s, 60tps, Mauses, IS7s doing it makes it not matter cause these kind of players will do that in any tank.

This tank should have 450-460 alpha for the gun mechanic to be useful, with stellar gun handling. 0.42 trying to use DPM is a problem and 0.38 will fix something but I still won't choose this over S. Conqueror or T110E5. Armor is still lackluster.

The major issue I have with the aiming mechanic is that BIA and Vents both effect the time between when you reload and when get better accuracy, but Gun Rammer doesn't. So you have to wait longer the faster your reload

what you say makes a lot of sense. When you look at your lineup at the start you kind of want your best armored heavys to go into positions suited for them especially in the higher tiers. If you find them next to your grille and FV on maps like outpost you give up half the map for free and while those people are happy with the damage they do they get gangbanged in 5s at the end of the game and it's another loss...

Its pretty direct attempt to replace S.Conqueror. But it failed because of insufficent armor. Right now its just underarmored S.Conqueror with penalized accuracy(through gun cooling),and gun depression(through hydro suspension). Theyre both equally slow, 400 damage, hulldown tanks.

because and i know i'm not the only one, why play the type 71 when there's the Super Conqueror. The type 71 has a slight edge in mobility but the S. conq has a better edge in combat combat capability all because the Type 71 is being hindered by that hull armor and it's niche isn't good enough to justify playing the tank when there's other hull down tanks around the corner.

The gun handling is so bad. Not just this tank, but the entire line (8-10). It offers nothing new to the gameplay, and the gun comes pre-nerf (which I hate) which you have to wait to get it to working accuracy. To make it even idiotic, Soviet tanks with similar accuracy can hit things while these tanks can’t.

If they would make the tank faster like 50km/u the chance of people will use it as a sniper will reduce. The only thing i would be worried about that would be that just like the kranvagn in it's peak the tank will be able to get into important points and shoot crosses. Yes the armour is not anything like the armour of the kranvagn but this tank can actually hit shots further than 150m reliable compared to the kranvagn. Still i would think it would make a difference and won't mind it if they would do so. Also based on normal equipement 50km/u + turbo would mean 55km/u making it also more dynamic for flanking, re-pushing or reposition where needed.

I have no negative experiences with it. I unlocked and bought it today, fought 10 battles with it and am completely satisfied with the tank. I really have nothing negative to say about the tank.

Skielll The tank misses a lot more than it should vertically because of siege mode. It, and almost all other siege mode tanks, due to siege mode being active on the server and moving the hull but it not showing up properly on the client even with server reticle and low ping... Unlike normal tanks that dont have a moving hull, and even you're using fullgun depression, when stationary and your suspension isnt wiggling, your shot eill go way closer to where you're aiming vertically, unlike siege mode tanks where it can veer off up and down rather significantly

I think the main problem with it is that, why have an increased accuracy gimmick when this tank has to compete s. Conq and E5 in terms of play style and alpha. I think it would have been pretty fun if it have 440 or even 450-460. It would have had a niche where longer aim time but better alpha compared to other tanks of its class. Shame that s conq and e5 have pretty laser guns with better reload as of now.

yea I agree, but some players I've seen compare s conq or e5 alpha to type and say that alfa is ok because those have it and those are great tanks xD. Besides of this buff, type 71 alpha should be increased to at least 440.

Might be a new Kran on the Ridgeline speaking about it's hulldown strength with better accuracy. The problem or somewhat bug with reloader and the tanks cooldown is fixed. That's a really big deal that you will notice. Dpm will be much better with sniper shnitzel mode

I have a buff proposal. What if these tanks received a boost to their alpha damage in addition to better dispersion after the gun mechanic kicks in? Like a 5-10% increase. Thoughts?

It just doesn’t have anything to offer currently. It’s weaker than all other heavies with similar alpha on its tier and STB-1 plays hull down positions more easily despite having lower alpha. It should be faster considering how lightly armored it is, it absolutely should have better gun handling for its caliber and its weak spot shouldn’t feel like a magnet. I think however WG might be overdoing the buffs by hitting all its weaknesses but we’ll see, hopefully this tank will feel like a heavy.

I find games like Pearl River are happening more on this channel and it seems more like trying to pad stats than win the game or improve peoples performances in tanks. In reality, a lot of the positions are a how not to play the game rather than helpful. With the gun, players talent and HP, you'd think that either mid or other flank could have been won, but instead we got that...

sadgame g2. That front fell so fast. I dont agree you shoulda done otherwise. If anything, then you shoulda go there faster, to put preasure on them earlier. IF you had been at the corner just 3 shots earlier then it probaly woulda hold.' Either way. The enemy just steamrolled that side, and it seemed like your team tried to push into it, which obviously caused a total collapse. You goin there faster would only have been good if team also didnt go full lemming as they did. With all that... mebbi youd survived if you had left them all to rot. But you did what a good teamplayer should do, and there was a real chance the front would hold the moment you made the decision..

The mechanics of this tank should be taken as nothing more than a bonus. Wait for it you destroy your DPM. So playing like a normal HT and fire whenever you can is the way to go. Then the problem comes, the horrible accuracy for its alpha, the garbage UFP & side armor for a tier 10 HT. Even its mobility is mediocre. Now it's getting overly buffed. The buff will probably make this tank meta for a while before WG inevitably nerfs it.

Type 71 post-buff will be a faster E5 with better turret but worse hull. Its gun will be a bit worse E5 gun but it has a guaranteed shot periodically, and way better gun depression. Is that meta enough?

It’d still be awful though because of the HE nerfs. It used to have 1100 damage and 75 pen or 1400 damage and 75 pen. At tier 10 you won’t pen anything with 75 pen and you’ll only splash for 300-400 if you’re lucky. So just giving its old HE gun back will actually be a nerf compared to the big gun it currently has.

LOL-- This tank full HE load, so you can just drop your shots anywere. Screw the sniperschnitzle, just go full ham on anywhere you can get a shot in (I know, it wouldnt ACTUALLY work competitively. But it could be fun to run it as derptank despite the accuracy)

Interestingly, WG changes Type 71 characteristics to almost identical to that of Lesta. Considering that Type 71 one of my beloved on lesta, and its pretty good, WGs Type 71 will be considerably better I think, but only not in the depression angles. -15 of lesta vs -12 of WG. With -15 you can make such good plays, oh my god.
