To kick this series off, I am talking about aText. A tool that makes working with my Mac so much faster. Just hit some letters and there you have a great amount of text you would normally write over and over again.

so I guess this tool has been replaced by Mac's built in text replacement feature?

I don't think so. The macOS text replacement feature is extremely limited and I do not use it. aText is still my preferred application for this. However, in some ways programs like Raycast / Alfred App are also options.

Hey, thanx for teh video. Do you know how to expand within words? when I add abreviation 'ee' it must result into 'é' How ever if I type "eexito" it does not work! it only works if i type 'ee'

I'd try to see if this works with the "Expand abbreviation" option and set it to "After typing abbreviation".

Contact the creator and ask if it is possible. Otherwise, you can see if macOS text expansion can do it out of the box. Maybe TextExpander is an alternative program that can do it.

@@ChrisSpiegl Hey, actually I did find the option; you have to select the main group of the snippet, and look in its contextual options for 'Position of abreviations' and select option 'After any character'. 👍

When you need this to loginto account, I would instead use a password manager like 1Password: crsp.li/1Password

@Chris Spiegel: I haven't found a way to add an OPTIONAL ONLY attachment to an e-mail. Whatever I do, Atext ALWYS seems to add my chosen attachment independant of me ticking the box or not. Would you be able to provide help on that matter please, thank you!

I wanna write to roblox chat but when i write the shorcut the sentence appears but the shortcut does not disappear. What can i do about it? Is there any other application for that?

@@ChrisSpiegl I have found new application, that does not this problem named PhraseExpress. I found another named TextEpander but i found out it was for money so i stopped using it.

Kyle I have never thought about that. And I don’t think with aText that would be possible. However… there now also is Better Touch Tool which has a clipboard history functionality. And there you can also use text expansion and JavaScript snippets. So you probably do something like that.

I've been using it for 7+ years. There has been a new version published which added a tone of new features and I still use it every single day!
