Peter Steele would often drink a bottle of wine on stage while performing because he was nervous playing in front of crowds. His self deprecating sense of humor was also a defense mechanism. Very humble and sensitive 6'8 dude, he is and always will be missed. For me the song is a 12

I absolutely LOVE that you did this. Sori's mom has a great insight and you can see that she really cared about the story in the song. Now, this story of the song.....Peter may have SAID it was about a cat, but I have a feeling that his response might have actually been something he concocted for the media. Almost as if to blow off the weight of what his song is really about. We all know he was a bit of a satirical guy and was often self deprecating. That leads me to think he may have used the cat as a foil so as to redirect the honest and true pain of what this work is about. So many of his songs are about the torment inside his head, and while he was able to put that energy on to tape in the studio, and express it from behind the bass and microphone on stage, to sit and talk about it with another person might be a bit more than he was comfortable with. I really liked watching you all interact with each other.....DO MORE !!!

This song is about how Peter Steele felt about the death of his beloved grandmother and his cat Weena, whom he had since she died and he was a teenager. I think it is a tribute to both his grandmother and her/his cat. He had four cats after the death of both ladies, surely as a mechanism to accept the loss. Later they dedicated this song to Kurt Cobain (Nirvana's singer/guitarist) during their 1994 tour.

This song was written after Peter's cat died. It was 16yrs old and had been a member of the family for a long time. Hence the line "It's Like A Death - A Death - A Death In The Family". Basically, he's gonna commit suicide to rejoin the cat on the other side. Look closely and you'll see that there's nothing sexually oriented in this song, a theme in many of Pete's songs. It's a pure love for someone who he feels is practically family.

One of the best songs on the most underrated, unheard of, album ever. I know you hear 'it' Sori (I can tell by some of your reactions)...Vin...not your cup of tea, so I'm surprised you liked this one. The keyboard solo is Josh Silver, childhood friend of Peter Steele, producer of the band, and (of course) keyboard/piano/all wacky shit sounds, and FUNNIEST member of TON. I think you guys are ready to review (and lyao) to a montage of TON interviews. You've NEVER heard anything funnier than these guys doing their Brooklyn sarcasm in interviews and among/to each other in front of the camera. There are so many here on YT, I don't even know where to begin. Again, Josh is the funniest (imo), but Kenny (guitar) tells the best stories (about the band), esp when he does his impressions of Peter and Josh. For example, (again, I'm retelling/paraphrasing this from one of Kenny's stories) when the band was recording their first album, Josh borrowed $6000 from his mom to get the recording done. B/c time and money were limited, each member was expected to play his part correctly without too many redos (screw ups). Once, when Josh thought Kenny was taking too long to get his part in a song right, Josh runs up to him and screams: "IT'S $6 DOLLARS A MINUTE, IT'S $6 DOLLARS A MINUTE---GET IT RIGHT!!! IT'S MY MOTHER'S MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!" Here's Kenny, telling the story, as only he can (story starts @6:23): kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5SyepmEecaSfqs

This is such a raw song. It is impossible to listen to it without feeling the emotion, especially if you have lost somebody to suicide. Even Vin had to wipe his eyes part way through. I love how you guys have begun to appreciate Type O. There is depth and incredible poetry in the music that you don't see in today's music. It ISN'T Christian by any means and promotes ideals that run contrary to what I believe. That being said, it makes me feel things I don't necessarily want to feel but gives me insight into the feelings and motivations of others. I miss Peter Steele and Type O Negative. Hey Guys. Firstly happy Birthday to the big homie Jay Dizzle. Love you my guy. Also wanted to chime in with a perspective you hadn't considered in the review. Someone very close to me has this type of mentality about her dog. She literally calls it her baby and buys it gifts and stuff. It's easy to dismiss this behaviour as silly, but due to medical issues, she is unable to ever get pregnant. As I'm sure you can imagine, that has been very difficult for her. So knowing that she can never have her own children, the dog gives her an outlet for that love. Something she can adore as if it were it were her own child. I'm sure there are others who either can't have children or god forbid have lost a child, that need something to love and invest that level of emotion in in order to cope feel "normal". Also, it is extremely common for people on the autism spectrum who find it very difficult to form relationships, or don't feel like they are in a place where they can have their own children. Animals are rarely if ever cruel, so pets allow them to have a loving relationship with a living creature that loves you unconditionally, without the hardships of human relationships, or the risks/vulnerability they can entail. Much love to Vin and Sori, and should out to Soris mom. You raised an amazing daughter ❤
