Peter Steele was a musical genius. People either got his sarcastic brand of humor or they didn't. I think this is one of the songs where the true Pete Steele showed himself. I think as brilliant as he was, he was also tormented, I'm sure he had regrets and the music was a release. I miss this band so much. Type O was a band that got me through some turbulent times of my own.

I watched my stepfather take his last breath to stage 4 cancer recently. It was surprisingly peaceful (thankfully he passed while in an unresponsive state), and the song "Everything Dies" has always helped me see this aspect of life very clearly and poignantly without a large degree of sadness, and because of this I thank Pete for writing it.

I'm a recovering atheist neckbeard. Currently spiritual homeless, and I love hearing religious people talk about their faiths these days. Don't let people tell you what you can and can't talk about on your channel. It's your perspective, and they are just closed-minded and think they know everything because they read Richard Dawkins one time. Reading Revelations and the Tao Te Ching has been very insightful, even if I see it as metaphorical and philosophical. Keep up the awesome work!

@ VinAnd Sori fun fact: Peter Steele was baptized as Petrus Thomas Ratajczyk that's the duality: Petrus, the rock the church was founded on and doubting Thomas at the same time.... he lived his life in doubt and rebellion, but shortly before the end he found god. from alpha to omega. full circle

"These Three Things" The child is torn from the womb unbaptised There's no question it's infanticide I'm guilty so therefore condemned Destroying angels must come to an end Now in Limbo deprived of paradise not so nice At the end I'll escort you to hell The dark one's forces lock your flaming cell To murder the one's unborn The worst sin you've ever performed There are two other things I must tell, know them well With due respect heed these words of caution If considering an abortion If you did boiling sulfur To which I won't concur Leading to a path of misfortune no one won Of a land, land that shuns the son So alien call it area 5-1 Should there be failure to convert Zion? What came as a lamb returning as a lion Not a nation but a self proclaimed state Since the year of our Lord 1-9-4-8 The road to redemption leads to through deserts Rocky though the trip through is well worth it I am the duel of the fisherman Simon He brought alpha, omega, yes I'm the one The twins fell beginning Armageddon So the whore too who dwelleth in Babylon All his people gathered round - through forgiveness salvation found

"September Sun". Tis the season after all... I love how "These three things" breaks into "Hey Jude" by the Beatles near the end "Na, na, na, NA na Na naaaa..." in the guitar melody. As an aside, one of the many points that split the catholic church from some of the early reformation protests was indeed sprinkling babies in "infant baptism" practices. Some reformers (specifically one Felix Manz) was DROWNED by the roman catholic church in response to his position for "believers only" baptism. So it was in fact "De Fide" roman catholic doctrine, at least in the early 1500's in Zurich. I just learned about this today, so I thought I would share.

and in the end the troubled soul found salvation edit: also, picking up Sori's idea of gathering around. If I am not totally wrong the second time the chorus was sung by Kenney Hickey (the slightly higher screaming voice). That underlines the idea of gathering around Peter.

This is the first time I've heard this song and I absolutely love it great song. I'm not very religious at least not at this point in my life, with that said a big reason why I love Vin, Sori, and this KZbin channel so much is because they don't try to force religion down anybody's throat. There's a lot of talk about religion but it's more educational to help people better understand the lyrics in the songs they review. Thank you Vin and Sori I've learned so much from watching this channel, not just about religion but also about life. Keep rocking out🤘.

Maybe this song is about his own personal journey for redemption Raised religious, but turning away from his faith.. He says he was guilty... the road to redemption leads through desert (him hitting rock bottom and recovering from addiction), but it's well worth it. His people" could be the closest people to him, "all his people gathered around". his salvation was found through their forgiveness... and then the declaration that he has once again found his faith! I read that he had found sobriety in the final year before his death... I am happy for him that he made this declaration... Comments?

His take on abortion is not telling people what to do but one of which is self reflection. Toward the end, when Type O played live there was a huge banner behind the band that just said 1313. I have often believed that it stood for 1 Corinthians 13:13.

Nevermind. I thought these may have a tie in to These Three Things. I have sense found an easier explanation in true Type O fashion. 1313 Mockingbird Lane was the Munster’s address.

Peter was a dark twisted person who I always loved but it only could occur he would be saved because as dark as his music was his clear sadness despair always came through and I feel God always was working on his heart and in heaven when those Christians who judged him will be shocked to see him around the throne probably still looking like a moody Nosferatu

Like myself, Steele was a Catholic. He always was. A lot of metal musicians are. Most of what you hear in metal songs is typically designed for a strong reaction. But not truly evil.

Hail Peter Steele! - One of the best, even though he wasn't perfect (as seen clearly by his choice of error): "I was born a Roman Catholic and I think that I have gone back to my faith. You know, people ask me are you a born-again Christian and I said no I am a dead-again Christian I have always been dead. I believe in Jesus Christ and God and the whole thing but, you know, I don't shove it down anyone's throat. You know, it's a very private personal thing and faith is really strong and I really want to see my mother and father again. And also I can't believe that somebody like Hitler and Mother Teresa are going to the same place after death. I can't believe that." I miss the SOB.

I have just seen your discussion about the song "These three Things" by Type O. I am fan since more than 30 years. But nowadays durigen the Corona-Crisis the song "Live is killen me" from the same album is more actuell than ever. BTW: Peter found back to his religion after the death of his mom. But he is still the sexiest man not alive. Annette from Germany
