Type Text in Circle - Photoshop Tutorial Tips

This is a quick Photoshop tutorial which will show you how to type a text in a circle. You first have to create a circular path; then use the text tool to type.
I will show you two different circle text. One that goes in a complete circle. The other Photoshop text tutorial which is a circle type which is used from emblem style.

A better way to work with the bottom text is to selected it all, then in the Character properties, increase the basline shift value to a large negative value.

Thanks, very helpful. I kept having a problem with rotating the text but only AFTER the first time I rotated it. If I wanted to edit it again, the Path Selection Tool only seemed able to drag the circle around after that, not select the text and rotate it. My only work around was to delete the text layer and start again. I was able to drag text around only once but any time after it would only move the circle. I'm not sure why that was. I noticed you were able to select and move the text around any time you moved the cursor into place. I"m using CS6, so maybe that's why?

If you want to edit the text, just double click the text thumbnail layer. If you want to move the text, select the Move Tool, and hold the CTRL key and click & drag it.

This might not make sense, but is there any way I could try and do this with the text wrapped along the 'inside' of the circle? I'm having difficulty trying to warp my text to have it fit a circle I've already made.

You make a path of the exact circle size you want. Then you can use your text tool to write on that path. You can also go Edit > Free Transform on your text layer to change the shape and size.

What do you mean by "spacing itself out"? Are you saying the space between each letter is too spaced out? Highlight the text, go to Window-Character, then you can change the tracking and spacing of each letter in the Character Panel.

How do you find that drop down to change it into a path? My PS doesn't have it. Never mind, I was in the marquee tool. Had to search additional tools to find the right one. Might want to start with that...
