I had no idea the difference of all the flours. Now cake flour I'll sift, but I do that with my all purpose all the time. Thanks for the explanation on all these

I am so glad it was helpful. I find flour fascinating! If you use a scale it doesn’t matter when you sift. If you use cup measures, be sure you’re sifting after you measure, unless the recipe calls for “sifted flour” in the ingredients.

I always thought all purpose flour was "all purpose" but after my wife started baking last year, we have a section of our pantry that is now the flour section 😂😂😂

This was so helpful!! Thank you! I would love to see a tutorial on the difference between baking soda and baking powder, and why some recipes call for one, or both.

Hi Zoe, this is so interesting. Thanks for the lesson. What about a “pastry flour?” Where does it fit in all of these different flours? Thanks for your time and expertise. Linda

Very interesting to know the different uses for flour... Can you do videos how to break the recipe down when you just want to make for two people. I can't ever get them to turn out.

Thank you!! I love your videos! What about all purpose unbleached flour vs all purpose bleached flour? Can I bake your banana Nutella bread with unbleached all purpose flour?

I would like to see a video on homemade rye bread. I have tried to make a few loaves and they seem to come out dense. I have tried a mix of bread flour, AP and rye flour but cannot figure out where I am going wrong. Additionally, I seem to have a problem with it keeping its rise. Also should the dough be non sticky and soft or kind of wet and sticky. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. P.S. I love your kitchen - it has good vibes and definitely makes you want to bake something!

When do you pastry flour?

Great video. Did you realize that when you began to talk about whole wheat flour, you mistakenly referred to it as all purpose flour (at about 4:19 in the video)?

First...Thank you for creating helpful content. It is very much appreciated. Secondly...why do some cake recipes call for AP flour? Can I use cake flour instead? Or follow the recipe if it calls for AP flour? Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
