I'm a huge Khan Academy fan. Do you all think you could make a video about the connection between the thyroid and menstrual cycles? I looked everywhere and couldn't find one.

Great video... Amazing information... But for future reference just edit the writing in while you talk don't take pauses every 10 seconds to write when it's a video trust me it's a lot more annoying and disruptive than it may seem. Not trying to hate tho just a simple editing fix but amazing video and information. Just no more pencil scribble noise please

Very nice video . When u were talking about tyrosine derivatives. You said they can work as protein being an amino acid but how it can work as steroid. Can you plz elaborate. The rest of the video is superb

I had the same question and it seems as though the amino acid derivative hormones come from BOTH tyrosine and tryptophan. For example, melatonin is derived from tryptophan.

@Harsh Bhavsar actually, to correct you, hydrophobic molecules are lipids! and, steroids are made of lipids! now, steroids can possess an OH grouping.which makes it partly hydrophilic but "none the less" ALL STEROIDS ARE HYDROPHOBIC IN WATER DUE TO THEIR CH3 BONDS!

My book has it classified as proteins, steroids and biogenic amines. So I'm assuming tyrosine derivatives fall under biogenic amines?

ALL THESE LECTURES ARE MISS LEADING; IN THAT NON OF THEM ADDRESS ELECTRICAL OR CHEMICAL COMMUNICATION AND the optimal condition which allows these communications to take place. That would be called conductivity and only Salt with trace minerals permit this.
