​@AnonymousAlien_ The super simplified explanation I've come up with is that Evillious Chronicals is a multimedia franchise/series that originated from vocaloid songs written by the producer MOTHY, but was eventually built upon through many more songs, and then multiple adaptations into visual novels with full world building and characters. The story is too expansive to summarize in youtube comments, but the evillious chronicals wiki was what helped me the most. basically every story beat is based off a song, which was then supplemented with visual novels to further flesh out the plot. There are lists out there of all canon songs in order if you want to experience the full story musically, but the wiki was what helped me really understand the meanings and details of the songs that im too dense to extrapolate lmao. it also helped string the complicated plot into order and made it easier to remember key details. if youre in the mood for a good ol hyperfixate study sesh, i highly recommend checking it out

what's funny abt evillious is you can already understand each stories just by listening to the songs, reading the novels only makes you understand each song even more. for example, muzzle of nemesis was in nemesis' POV and thus we follow what _she_ thinks. but if you read the novel, you'll realize how much of an unreliable narrator she is by knowing the truth. evillious would really be easier to follow if it was a decade ago. but 16 years had already passed so there's a lot to catch up on. even the songs are of 50+ last time i checked (it could be 60+ more) because mothy does not stop continuing to tell stories even after evillious itself is finished.

So I am the type who is bit of a fanboy aaand... when I first got into vocaloid, I was like "finally some good f*cking music" and than slowly became so obsessed with it that I started learning japanese (and I didn't regret it). Vocaloid is now something that motivates me and pushes me to improve myself. It eventually became one of the few reasons of my life and I am very greatful for the day I found crushers "biohazard 2017 version" (yes, I know that it's UTAU, but this was the spark that lighted the fire for me). Now, my main motivation is to become a better member of that great fandom that enjoys great music. I am actively working on quiting my bad habits, started working out (kind of) and am living a much happier life, all because of that green haired girl with leeks. Sorry for just telling my lifestory, but I got emotional an could not resist to shear it XD.

I'm an old school fan, been a fan since 2008. It's incredibly amazing to see how far the Vocaloid program (and other vocal synth programs), the voicebanks, and the fandom itself has progressed (and regressed, too, unfortunately, but I'm sure it'll recover sooner or later), especially since I was there for the right beginning of it. I'm 26 years old, and I'm still a really big fan of the voicebanks, and the producers, and watching *their* growth, too. Watching Hachi grow as a producer to who he is now was PHENOMINAL to watch, along with Ryo, too. There's some bittersweetness to it, for sure, but it's still amazing to see. I almost feel like a proud mom going "THAT'S MY SON" whenever Kickback is brought up even though I'm pretty sure Hachi is older than I am lol.

Even though I like project sekai (I started seeing it's content this year) nothing compares to the old and og vocaloid era, the ship mmd videos, or the ones they started fighting for no reason, the talkloids, especially the ones with memesquad (fukase, piko, flower and oliver), the amazing and talented stories that vocaloid producers did, along with many having beautiful tuning, the variety of other vocaloids (also including the iconic utauloids and fanloids), all the memes and chaotic vibes of the games, and many other things, I've been a vocaloid fan since 201something (I don't remember the year exactly ;-;) but the first songs I listened to were Electric Angel, and World is Mine, unfortunately I wasn't able to play any of the games, but I hope I do someday, with this said I'm really happy you keep this fandom from the gold era alive Minnemi, thank you very much for this

Even by only checking out music, there's still a lot of discover. Like, paying attention to artists will help you discover song series, collabs and commissions for franchises. Like, Evillious is probably the biggest example of songs with interconnected lore, but other artists also have their own series. For example, the Disappearance of Hatsune Miku is a actually part of CosMo's InfinitY series, which is connected to his other song series. Some vocaloid artists also get specifically targeted and commissioned to make songs for a franchise, like the COMPASS game and Sanrio's Maimaimaigoen. The vocaloid artist community is also tight enough to collab with each other often. For example, the Chimera album is made entirely of collab songs.

I was literally a psycho when I was a baby vocaloid fan. I was ride or die for Rin and Len and hated Miku bc of it. When Gekokujou dropped, that was MY song. I literally just went to listen to it and the nostalgia made me burst into tears LMAOO Anyway, Rin and Len are still my children, and in my old age I've come to realize Miku isn't bad, but Kaito and Meiko are actually insanely underrated. At least they're in project Sekai I guess.☝🧓

I'm a messy combination of the old school, the shipper, the Evillious fan, and the collector 😭 I stopped paying attention to any new Vocaloids after Vocaloid4 came out and mostly stick to my playlist of songs I jammed to from middle school to high school. My headcanons all came from cringe Vocaloid ship roleplays I did back in the day, and to this day mean the world to me. Evillious Chronicles is...yeah. Every time I go back and read Seth Twiright's wiki page, I swear it changes with new information. And as for collecting...we don't want to talk about the hours and money spent into hunting down as much ManboP merch and fan-made VY2 merch as I could :')
