I like your analysis of Typhon's kit, but in terms of power level it's actually the opposite. The gap between Rosa/Typhon cannot be compared to Schwarz/Pozy. Schwarz and Pozy are #1 and #2 carries in IS2 and IS3 in some order. Who exactly is #1 depends on your squad and ending. Currenty Pozy is the highest source of physical damage under 1200 DEF and Schwarz over 1200 DEF. The two Heavyshooters are just too broken compared to everyone else. For example Schwarz was the only 6* with 100% pick rate in the Mizuki Cup D15 tournament's top 4, and Pozy was also among the top picks. Meanwhile Rosa is still useable, but it's hard to make her to more damage than Typhon. At any level of DEF. There's an undeniable gap. If a Rosa main won an IS tournament using her as carry, it would actually be quite unexpected (although it could still happen).

i actually would recommend newer player to s3m3 mod3 typhon first since her s2 mastery gain is pretty minimal

0:48 regarding her first talent, it's worded in such a way that seems like even if she attacks *different* enemies, her DEF ignore will stay as long as she *keeps* attacking. But from your wording I get the impression that it falls off if an enemy dies. Any Arknights scientists that can test this, or do you know how it works for certain?

i just read the official translation and it puts it as “ignores target’s defense” so it would seem it builds per enemy and resets for every new one. if it is just worded weirdly and it is just flat 50 for all enemies after 5 attacks then typhon is even more broken than i originally thought

Insufferable amounts of yappology beyond these lines, expand at your own risk. You have been warned. I feel like her s2 is overrated. Rosa's s2 (I know Rosa's isn't an infinite skill but still) outdpses Typhon's s2 by a lot actually. Typhon's s2 is good because of her talent that lets her deal 160% damage on the first hit, you can actually do this twice on the first enemy. Consequentially allowing her to one shot most elites. As a result, if she hits 2 different targets at once, she'll be less efficient. For the sake of convenience, let's just say her attack after skill activation is 1000, and the elite enemy has 0 defense and their HP is 3000. If 2 elite enemies come to her one by one, she'll deal (1600x2) 3200 damage to each of them. Meaning she can kill both enemies with 2 attacks. But if they come to her simultaneously: ATK1: Elite A HP: 1400/3000 || Elite B HP: 1400/3000 ATK2: Elite A HP: 400/3000 || Elite B HP: 400/3000 ATK3: Both dead. This doesn't seem like much but it can definitely make her suck in a bunch of situations. Meanwhile Rosa's module allows her to make one of her shots deal around 200 more damage than Typhon with the 160% on one enemy. Essentially meaning at peak performance, Typhon's skill is basically like Rosa's skill but single target. Of course Rosa doesn't have an infinite skill, and she cannot stack 2 attacks into a singular enemy, but she doesn't have to since she deals the same damage pretty much. But if the aforementioned situation comes up where she must attack 2 different enemies simultaneously for the first hit, her dps basically kinda dies. Also: Her mastery efficiency is pretty bad. Also (electric boogaloo): For sustainable DPS skills: Limited target melee skills are just generally inferior to AOE arts skills. Some enemies have phys dodge, some have an arts shield you need to break etc, generally HG still tries to establish arts as superior to Phys. AOE is also just wayy better. To this day, I don't think I have found a stronger combo than the: Ifrit S2 + Eyja S2+ Saria S2. I haven't seen an AFK skill that beats the Trio. Or even just something like Ifrit s2 + Saria S2. If you're using Typhon you're gonna use another operator that lane holds anyways, and mountain + typhon is worse than like Saria module Y S1 + Ifrit S2. I'm not saying Typhon's S2 is a bad skill, in fact I heard she's really good in IS4. But for general content there are just better options. Still, she has large range + the skill is infinite. I still spent like 150 pulls (basically pity) for her and lost 270+ originite prime, that's because her S3 is broken. IIRC, with her s3 m3, e2 lvl 90, module level 3: She can kill both phases of phases of Patriot with 1 skill activation. She deals a shit ton of damage, with defense ignore, lock-on global targeting (which I feel like is superior to GG's s3 in boss fighting situations), and scales well with buffs. My opinion of Typhon TLDR: S1: It's atk up gamma lmao S2: Decent skill, but just good, not as broken as people make it out to be. Really satisfying sounds and mechanics tho. S3: Boss's worst nightmare. But your criticism for it is 100% valid, you can't really utilize it to kill elites it's too awkward.
