Typhoon Genesis Tennis String Review - A Worthy Replacement for Alu Power Rough?

Typhoon by Genesis is a hairy string...never seen that before...that otherwise has a reputation as playing similarly to Luxilon Alu Power Rough. It mostly does, but the feel is off, kind of hollow. It lacks the plushness of Alu Power.
Normally there are enough cost savings to maybe justify the purchase, but for some reason Alu Power Rough is selling particularly cheap from this site, making the cost savings less critical. If you really want to save money, consider trying Pro's Pro Lethal 8, which is seriously cheap, and has a lot of good, Alu Power-like qualities.

Bro I have been playing with lethal 8 for 6 month and I love them. I would recommend you try the Oehms Alu power rough, they are shaped as a clover , 16L (1.25MM), great strings.

Typhoon Genesis is not a hairy string. I have played with it for years and it is a highly rated string when it was blind tested at RSi. You must have gotten a bad bunch.

I've ordered it three different times and it always has been hairy. Weird!

@@gravitytennis And I've ordered it probably 6 or 8 times over the years. And a family I string for has probably bought another 3 reels to leave at my place. There has never been a hairy bunch. Plus another 15-20 individual packs. Out of curiosity I just checked my records. I have strung up 186 full jobs and 46 Typhoon hybrids. So I would say that, yes, that is weird.
