It's been almost nine years since this happened, but the events that happened on this day still come back to haunt me, I am one of the survivors of this disaster. Many of my relatives died. To this day, I still carry the trauma I suffered from this typhoon. I was 15 years old when this happened now I'm 24, Every time I see my scars on my body I remember everything that happened and it makes me cry. 😭

Director of metereology & co-founder of Weather underground Jeff Masters says it is the fourth strongest storm in recorded history. However, it is the strongest on record to make landfall in world history. The top 3 made landfall at a weaker category, this one made landfall at its peak strength.
@adriannsantos3 жыл бұрын
And now its second, tied with Meranti of 2016. Goni dethroned these 2 as the strongest at landfall.

I am a Survivor of this Super typhoon... I remember I am just 9 years old when this Storm hit our Place which is Tacloban... My Family and I are living in the Coastal area of Tacloban that's why our House disappear after that storm.. I remember we dont have a 2nd floor that's why when the storm surge hits our house we literally climbed to our Attic to survive... The storm only last for about 2 hours but the effects are worst... Thank God we are still complete, no one died in my family... But we have some relatives that died and we don't know where their bodies now... We are not able to find their bodies... Our Public Plaza became a Cemetery... When the storm stop we immediately run outside because our house feels like unsafe, At that moment I realized how deadly that typhoon is because there's literally Dead body everywhere... Sorry for my English 😅

A Typhoon isn't eternal damnation, it's a natural disaster and unfortunately Roberto is absolutely right. You're empty prayers will not rebuild the peoples houses, they are simply you using verbal affirmation to feel good about yourself like your doing some great good by asking god for the victims to be okay; instead of actually doing something to help. Religion is useless in the real world. Sorry.

When you chose NOT to seek christ, he will choose NOT to seek you either. Though he loves you dearly, you have the freedom of choice. But when you die one day and look for something or someone to save you.. you will ask god but it will be too late because he will deny you infront of the father and tell you to depart from him and that he doesn't know you. You people are spiritually blind because you have refuse to try and simply ask jesus if hes real.. probably because you think you will feel stupid and you believe the lies you see and hear on t.v.. but thats how far your ego can take you. A decade has passed, but back then, people were uninformed about what a 'storm surge' was. They didn't prepare for it, unaware of the typhoon's strength. Sadly, despite having sufficient budget for flood controls, no progress has been made by the government to minimize casualties over the past decade. Even after 11 years, we still experience flooding without typhoons. Despite continued investments in flood control, no tangible results have been achieved, essentially wasting resources.

My science teacher told us about Bagyong Yolanda (Typhoon haiyan) today, and told us we were just 1/2 years old when it happened and that we should be thankful we live in Luzon and somewhere where the Bagyong Yolanda didn't affected much. Then i searched it on YT and I'm feeling so depressed rn imagining all the kids that died and it was literally showed on video 😢 there was evn a mother who got separated from her family when the typhoon happened and it started flooding. She was holding her 1 year old daughter trying to escape and survive from the typhoon when suddenly a house hit them. And her daughter suddenly letted go and she was nowhere to be found same as her first child her husband was holding the first born but he claims to have letted the child go and the mother didn't believe him cuz he had no bruise at all. But anyways I'm so thankful and happy that I'm still alive today when the strongest typhoon in the word happened 😢 okay but ngl if i was 10/11 at that time and i was in Visayas i would be dead rn. 😢

Hagibis is only 185 mph Yolanda is 195 mph
@merasoljadraque65435 жыл бұрын
No Haiyan/Yolanda Winds Even reached 200mph because theres no hurricane hunter plane flyby on the storm when it actually happened so they just measured it based on the satellite data not on the physical anemometer data
@ElonMasks5 жыл бұрын
Haiyan highest mp/h is 200 and for km/h is 315 *Edit* And after passing the Philippines it went 195 - 190 - 185. 185 is the lowest mph of haiyan. My father works at weather forecast so i asked him about haiyan again. But comparing the strom mph isn't gonna change, both are destructive and powerful.
