To my knowledge, once you're 18 or older AND/OR have finished high school in your country, you can't attend high school in the USA. The next thing you would be able to go would be to attend a community college. To answer your other question, you can make friends, but it may be difficult as an introvert. To an extent, you would need to put yourself out there.

It's illegal to go to high school when you're over 18 years old. You might get arrested. It happened to a 35 years old Asian girl who went to high school and told the school she is 17 years old. She got arrested by police.

You can google and search for scholarship from American college. Some college have fund to give to foreign students for tuition or might be room & board too.
