Rancho the Dog is a 4 year old Belgian Shepherd Tervuren. There are 4 varieties of the Belgian Shepherd Dog - the Malinois (short coated), the Groenendael (black long-coated), the Lakenois (wire-haired) and the Tervuren (basically a long-coated Malinois, as far as color is concerned)

This is a question to you and not to rancho; I’ve wondered for my entire life how people has time to have dogs. You need to be with them all the time so I reckon it’s alot of people that don’t have time for dogs (me being one of them). How do you overcome this problem? Do you bring your dog to work or are you working at home.

I mostly work from home, but many people have regular jobs and they can still have dogs. As long as you spend time with them after you get home from work, they'll be fine. They spend most of the time sleeping anyway.

We did use the crate occasionally when ours were pups, as we took them on vacation when they were still little and didn't want them to break anything in our rented place...at home we hardly used it as our experience is, they learn much faster what they can and can't do without it🐶🐾🍂🐺

#askrancho Hi Rancho. A bit of a personal question here. How did Mom toilet train you. Sorry if this is too personal but I’m aware you live in an apartment. Do you always go outside or do you have a special spot inside as well- especially when you were a puppy? Many thanks. 😊🐕👍

As another option, using a damp washcloth with toothpaste on it is effective in cleaning their teeth... until they’re comfortable with a toothbrush or don’t have that fancy liquid. 😉

Rancho and you really have a beautiful area for walking. Lovely those woods in the autumn colors and soon snow! Your response for using a crate was very recognizable. Our puppy Loki is now 5 months old and sleeps in her crate at night but also in between. Made it a bit smaller during potty training but now she has more room. It does give her ( und us ) peace and clarity. Looking forward to your next Vlog! 👋👋👊

That is so smart getting him outside for a good brushing or a raking as I do with my scotch collie. It's amazing how similar my Scotch collie is to Rancho both in looks and mannerisms and shedding. Great series

How does Rancho tolerate having his nails trimmed? I found a set that are a little more hefty. Could use some advice in bringing home a rescue Belgian Malinois. My first meeting with Ranger went quite well, but I did have a large jar of peanut butter 🙂 He was very well behaved around me and young children that asked to put him after they had already initiated it. He needs a lot more patient training in that he's only crate trained, house trained, and hesitant about basic commands. Ranger is 18 months old. My house is in huge nor is my yard it is a little bit over .3 acres but is partially fenced, and has a reasonable dog run attached to the house except for the fact that it's only 45 in high 😬
