Hello Agent Nesty. I enjoy watching your videos because you are able to show us the real Russia, its people and culture, and you do it in a way that is unique. Thank you for letting us into your family and celebrate the Holydays the way you do. The food looks good. Last year I made an Olivier salad for the New Year dinner with my family from a recipe I found on the internet. Maybe you should make a video on how to prepare some of those New Year dishes? I hope that you will continue showing your Russia the way you live and see it. Happy holydays from Canada.

As far as I know that kind of a Russian salad which is popular in the South America and other countries is completely unknown in Russia. The "Russian salad" abroad is usually just potatoes, carrots, peas and mayo. Nobody it this that way in Russia. To make a real Russian one you should add at least picked cucumbers and some meat product which is mandatory (its either a bologna or chicken meat). Then you will have the true one.
@yanoshackАй бұрын
@@-joe-davidson The original potato salad is actually from Russia, invented there by French chef Lucien Olivier in the 1830s. From there it spread in various variations to many other countries. How he got all the way to Argentina will probably be hard to find out. 😀

@@RusGirlVlog For us it was just two Christmases in a row. My father's family was Irish American, and my mother's parents were Swedish, so they just did both. Originally, Americans didn't celebrate Christmas -- government offices were open on Dec. 25. Much American Christmas comes from German immigrants.

Your tree ritual is just the same as ours, same bucket, same high cupboard decorations, same needles followed by the same quantity of cooking (different food, love that aspic). You are very blessed with your family.

I bet I know why we're witnessing last year's celebrations now. Because you forgot to open the door! 😃 I wish you a happy new year and above all lots of love and happiness. Because with whom there is love and happiness, there is also health. 😀 We have very similar customs in the Czech Republic, including the aspic for the New Year.

Hi Yano. I've seen you in some of the KZbin channels. Concerning one channel in particular, I just want you to know, in case it may be of use to you, that if you are giving women any money, don't do it expecting anything in return. Take this from a guy who paid the price, so that you don't have to. If you give expecting something in return, they will take all that they can take, give back nothing, and then hate you for it. Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied.

My mother in law and my wife used to live in the almost the same house in a little town in South Urals. I was lucky to spend two or three New Year holidays there in this kind of small town atmosphere. Now all is sold and we live in a city, so we keep the traditions but everything is not the same.
