I actually lost an engagement to an AC20 Urban. That short stumpy little bugger shot and killed an Ace King Crab pilot under my control; yeah I know people like to joke about Urbans. It's funny until they are ripping your assault mechs limb from limb with RNG at their back

Cheap little AC20 platforms, all be it slow and limited ammo. UM-AIV are nifty little artillery platforms arrows have a range of eight map sheets.

@@ASNS117Zero Short range urbies in table top were slow as molasses and generally not a threat in the open. Most of them only had a movement of like 2 walking 3 running and 2 jump. Except for MWO, which doesn't exactly follow the rules regarding mech modification.

Imagine this: you're an Atlas pilot trying to smash your way through a city, but this one blasted urbanmech keeps pestering you with potshots followed by jumpjets whenever you're about to get lock on him. You finally seem to corner him, and he's out of ammo. Then for a split second, you see something moving fast to your right. You turn to check it out... ...Only to get clocked in the face. Your mech falls and the last thing you see above you is the Charger whose ambush position is what that little freak was luring you towards this whole time.

This is why you have several and don't commit to head on 1v1. You use pack tactics, terrain, and friendlies who also call this city home. Never let the enemy know which threat is safest to focus on. (Trick question, if you're doing it great, then there is NO good move or correct targeting priority for force attacking you.)

In Battletech 2018, I turned my brave little Urbie into dedicated pot-shot annoyance/fire support. I gave it two AC/2s and Large lasers, both with bonus damage. This little gremlin become the last thing many MechWarriors never saw.

One sentry UB aint that bad but holy fuck 3 dropped on high ground with mix of ac20s and quad rifles nuked my Griffon in one volley and mauled the PhHwak into deep red. YAML doesn't have mercy. Also Igor legged one Panther on the exfil and made me cough up over 6 mil in repairs between Engine replacements and lost weapons.

on mech warrior 5 and battletech modded with harder starts the urbie is the only light i can make work, add a better engine max armor, put lighter weapons, drop jump jets if any, and they can brawl well with other lights and gang up on mediums, having a stock one for fire support is also an option, they feel like the best bang per buck option, when i go broke after failing miserably on a mission i seel all the scrap and buy urbies lol
