Typology: Full Line Reviewed For Sensitive Dry Mature Skin - 2024

Weird: I live in France, and the idea that you can return something you don't like is so unusual! Typology here is almost half the price you pay. On the other hand, Jones Road here is about double what you pay. Typology's tinted serum is a game changer for mature skin, and now their glow drops - yay! Thanks for your in-depth analyses. A lot of work, but appreciated.

Wow, Jones Road is not cheap at all in the U.S., and so twice as expensive would be real luxury prices! But without the expensive containers that most luxury brands use. On the other hand, if Typology were only half what they are charging now, that would be a fantastic deal and I would use their products as my main go-to staples. Hmmm. As a 59-year-old woman with sensitive skin, I'm always looking for skin care products that don't break the bank or my skin. After my Instagram feed was inundated with testimonials and ads for Typology, and after watching your review, I decided to give it a go. Of course I went all in (as I always do), not realizing they had a no-returns policy. Boy, do I wish I read the fine print. On the plus side, I got my shipment faster than most of my orders shipped from within the U.S. But three days in, after using the various serums (including the tinted one), I'm not impressed. Au contraire, I could not dislike the products more than I do. They make my skin feel dryer than before I put them on, even the hydrating serum and the moisturizer. The tinted serum actually flaked when applied over the other serums and felt drying. I know you mix yours with moisturizer, but you shouldn't have to. Since I can't return any of it, I feel like I've thrown nearly $300 out the window. I'll return to my Thrive BB Cream and Skinceuticals skin care regimen - which, while really expensive, makes my skin look and feel much better than the Typology.

@@lisapetrison-beautyreviews The no return policy is a biggie, but that's on me. That said, I've since reassessed the products and decided that the tinted serum is, when added to my Skinceuticals moisturizer, really quite amazing. I get adequate coverage, it doesn't cake and, most astonishingly, doesn't get stuck in my pores. So, big fan of the tinted serum (even with having to add it to the moisturizer). I've ditched the hydrating serum, because it left my skin feeling sticky, and the moisturizer, because it felt like it was drying out my skin ... but the jury is still waiting to make its verdict on the other serums. (I also like the concealer.) What I should have said in the previous review (and am ashamed that I didn't) is that your review was amazing. Thank you for your thoroughness and honest opinions, and I'm sorry for not stating that first and foremost.

Oh thanks much for the update and the compliment on the review. I guess that I used to find it to be a little weird that hyaluronic acid serums left a tacky feeling on my skin, but eventually I concluded that my skin liked them a lot and that the tackiness actually made them act well as a primer for makeup and so changed my mind. I think the Typology one doesn’t have too many other ingredients and so may be especially noticeable for that. I wonder which moisturizer you tried. I didn’t like the coconut oil one much at all (called 9 Ingredient or something like that) but I did like the other one quite a bit. I am very sorry with regard to the money that you wasted. Please report back if you come to any conclusions about the other things you bought.

Thank you for the full review on Typology in my late 30’s I’m looking for more natural products I have heard though that you can use the lip oil on your cheeks and lips because they don’t have blush. Thank you for your review 🥰

It seems that using lip oils on the cheeks is becoming a bit of a thing - Clinique even has a new product designed for that. I feel like the Typology product was a bit sticky for that though, I do think their new liquid bronzer is a nice substitute for blush it is slightly on the reddish side and a little shimmery, Though currently out of stock. go.shopmy.us/p-7251002

Thanks for the video! I struggle with rosacea and it is super hard to find any product, especially makeup, which does not irritate my skin! I am giving this a try, from Germany the prices are still affordable!

Thanks for all the info. I've been curious about this brand as they don't use phenoxyethanol or propylene glycol, which are 2 of my allergens. Still, the large price increase, no returns, no samples...I'm not sure yet if I'll try. Definitely one to keep on my radar, though. Thanks again!

They really are not doing business in a way that relieves people from feeling like they are taking a huge risk when they make that first order, in my opinion. Which is too bad because I would guess that what they really need at this point are more people with sensitive skin to become loyal to them.

The 61% markup+ the lack of returns is what completely turns me off from this brand tbh. That, and the shade range is pitiful

I'm guessing that they were hoping that they were going to scale up to selling more products a lot faster and that when that didn't happen, they were forced to raise their prices to compensate. I still don't feel like they are overpriced compared to other similar products, but the lack of samples and lack of returns does make it implausible to think they are going to make a big dent in the U.S. market. Which is too bad because I still would like to see them succeed. ❤

If they were able to sell the products for $24 initially and that was only two years ago and now they have increased the price on the most popular items to $42 tells me that they use cheap ingredients and as soon as they became known they became greedy and raised the cost exponentially without any improvements to the formula or size. No returns also indicates that they don’t stand behind their products and aren’t at all concerned about customer satisfaction. No thanks

I don't feel like when I use this brush like that that the brush gets dirty or that it removes the coverage. I generally do like more sheer coverage though. ❤
