i love stall and this vid so ill just say that first! i also think bug would be a fun monotype. specifically spidops of all things i think would be super interesting to build around. it has a lot of utility that i think is underutilized. silk trap AND sticky web for speed control, feint for protects, bug bite for held berries, and gastro acid for abilities to name a few. circle throw could be used to force switches. lunge to lower atk, and skitter smack/struggle bug for special. last but not least, its abilities. insomnia would make it a good sleep counter for things like amoongus (or yawners) while stakeout could work extremely well if you do happen to force switches! i dont actually know how well it would do, but i figured you of all people would possibly be able to find a way to allow it to shine. other notable bugs ive found: masquerain, intimidate mainly, but it also gets things like chilling water, struggle bug, tailwind/icy wind for speed control and helping hand. i think its extremely underrated. frosmoth with ice scales is a straight up spDef tank as well. anywho, enough rambles, back 2 vid.

Awesome video! I know you felt the need to apologize for using stall but honestly the first battle was a perfect example of what high level control matchups look like once you stabilized and reached a point that your opponent wouldn't be able to break you they forfeited. Super satisfying to see. This idea for monotype VGC is really cool. Singles monotype is a cool format and seeing it in VGC is a fun twist. I especially like the idea of having one flex Mon for Terastalization. Also Rock is often considered the worst monotype so good job making a formidable team.

Body Press is really weird, it seems to basically just replace your raw Attack stat with your raw Defense stat in the damage calculation but otherwise it calculates it exactly the same using the same modifiers, like protosynthesis's attack boost

Mono-Rock, Mono-Poison, and Mono-Normal are actually all weirdly good this Gen, the devs have been slowly improving the relatively mediocre types quite a lot over the past couple Gens.

I personally am doing this at the moment. I pick 1 type each gen and run it monotype in battle stadium doubles. In Gen 9 i decided on Mono-Poison, and my Ace is either Goodra or Hisuian Goodra with Tera Poison, depending on which i want to use that day. Its an interesting type with alot of different and under-utilized choices so i highly suggest you check it out!

Hey there. First time commenter, long time watcher if your content. I played mono-rock for the east coast pokemon league for a few years (not trying to flex. Sry) and this season with S/V I made a team with Ghost terra garganacl with body press , recover, and curse. That did wonders. I also used dark terra sudowoodo with sturdy. I gave him counter, sucker punch, and helping hand. That was a spicy boy. Hope this gets the creative juices flowing.

As A ghost montype player i can't recommend jumpscare H-Zoroark enough. I tend to camo mine as a sableye and place them with a high threat ally like Dragapult. Use some support moves like will-o-wisp and when thing start going south I can click normal gem stab boosted tera normal hyper voice. it tends to catch people off guard. Also my NVP has consistently been a Drifblim. I run Shadow Ball, Air Slash, Strength Sap & Tailwind. Set The tailwind, if you get hit it triggers the sitrus berry+Unburden. At that point you can spam Air Slash for flinch chance, or Strength Sap to heal back up, bonus points if you use Strenth Sap on an ally clear body Dragapult

I typically run power gem on flutter to surprise OHKO talonflame and volcarona, but it also does solid damage to iron bundle, chi-yu, and anything else you can hit for super effective

To answer the question of the day, I think my favorite Lycanroc form is the Dusk one. I had one in UltraSun named "Carrotcake" or just "Carrot". Back then I was making a food-names only team. 🥕

I actually ended up cosplaying as a Gym Leader myself during my playthrough of Violet. I picked Quaxly as my starter. Ended up liking Flamigo way more than I thought I would so it stayed on my team. Once Pawmot stood up and gained the Fighting type i was all in. Annihilape is awesome and made a great addition to my team. I wanted to use only new pokemon during my playthrough but unfortunately i didn't know i'd be a Fighting Gym Leader and pick Scarlet for the Fire/Fighting Tauros and had to go with Lucario as my 5th. Now for the best part of the team, Lokix. I loved this pokemon immediately and I love the move Axe Kick and I would Tera Fighting my Lokix for that move. My hype phrase was "It's time to Kick things up a notch!" Corny i know 😅
