Man I hate everything about that new champion. Super forgettable look, over designed, stupid hair, awfully weak and uninspired pokemon choices and the one mon that would be worthy of not just being part of a champions team but maybe even the ace, is not even the ace

@@alexread6767 I understand what your counter to that persons argument. But I have to agree with Frank West here. The champion in Scarlet and Violet barley has any significance within the region and the plot of the game. When she does show up in the story she just shows up says a few words and does nothing. Hell I can't even remember her name without looking it up on google. Not to mention she is lacking in any personality like the previous champions had that made us remember them. All the game tells us that she is just a champion that's it. At least Diantha had something to her even though her being an actress contributed nothing to Pokémon x and y. She had a nice design and a calm, collected and graceful personality. and going back to that Karen quote. We actually don't even know how deep her connection is with her Pokémon so we can't say for sure that their her favorite Pokémon. There Pokémon that's just there for a champion to have. and its a poorly made team. Her Ace and Kingambet are her only two memorable Pokémon .

I wouldn’t necessarily say over designed but I do understand where you’re coming from. It’s a very unusual design and the eyes are off putting, gives off the vibes of that fairy gym leader in X and Y. I do agree with the Pokémon choices being uninspired as we get no reason as to why she really chose them ( or really how they would fit with her personality or aesthetic )

Honestly that's one of my favourite things about FlygonHG! So many pokemon youtubers only ever use 'he'. It's a small thing, but addressing them appropriately makes them feel so much more real, rather than just tools being used. Pokemon is supposed to be about friendship and the bond between you and your pokemon, so the audience bonding more with the pokemon being used in a challenge makes us more invested, I think. Although it's now made it harder for me to watch other pokemon youtubers bc I'm always thinking 'uh that pokemon is female' lmao

It’s honestly nice to see a more sloppy nuzlocke every once in a while. It shows that even one of the best Nuzlockers can still make absolutely stupid mistakes, and that even those mistakes can be recovered from with the right plays. I feel like something I and many other Nuzlocke beginners struggle with is not quitting because a valuable encounter died because we assume it’ll be impossible without them and just reset, while simultaneously beating ourselves up about it because we feel we’re “not good enough”. So thank you for underestimating The Dirge™️. It taught us and yourself a valuable lesson.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think that's just toxic mentality. How is anyone "not good enough" if you never even tried to complete the run and simply gave up? A personal example, I used to be trash when I first started playing Pathfinder on PC because I knew nothing about the system, now I can beat WOTR on at least Core because I stuck with my runs, gradually discovering issues as I played (Yeah it took like 80+ hours, but still)

Always glad to see FlygonHG pop up on the main page, this run is gonna be real dang fun I can already tell. If you're curious to try a new Nuzlocke idea, I have one: Why not try to beat a game using the Ace Pokemon of every Gym Leader? For example, in Platinum you could use Cranidos/Rampardos, Roserade, Mismagius, Lucario, Floatzel, Bastiodon, Froslass, and Electivire. It may be simple or hard depending on which region you go through, but I bet you could build a fun story around it. Maybe you're an up-and-coming Gym Trainer whose trying to make their own Gym, and unsure of which type to use.

"I don't know what Dunsparce is based on and, be honest, neither do you!" Joke's on you, I love snakes _and_ mythical/folkloric creatures! Dunsparce is a tsuchinoko, an absurdly rotund snake of Japanese folklore.🐍 Dunsparce learning Rollout is a reference to how the tsuchinoko is said to be able to roll away from danger by biting onto its tail like a thicc ouroboros and rolling away! Dunsparce's and Dudunsparce's tiny wings are also likely a reference to the tsuchinoko's ability to double jump. Tsuchinoko also apparently like alcohol and if you find one that talks they are noted to be chronic liars.

@jasper7714 If you skip all the dialogue, you’re going to miss things. Nemona is already a Champion, and throughout the game, is deliberately using low-level Pokémon and going easy on the player to train them into someone who can challenge her at full power because she’s bored with winning all the time. She isn’t fighting at full strength until the end of the Victory Road storyline, by which point you’ve become a Champion yourself and are on equal footing with her.

Ive been waiting until after I finish Pokemon Violet to watch any gameplay videos of Violet/Scarlet so I could avoid spoilers. I just beat it less than five minutes ago and let me just say; I crapped so hard on this game but it's actually really good. I cried.

Fun fact: there is a significant trainer (Gym leader, Team Star admin, Elite Four/Top Champion) that "specializes" in each of the 18 types. 8 Gym leaders, 5 Team Star camps, 5 Pokemon League trainers (Yes I know that Geeta doesn't really use a specific type but her ace Glimmora is the only type that doesn't have a specialist: rock.) Each of the Pokemon League trainers's type specialty coincides with the type of a Titan Pokémon (Klawf and Geeta, Bombirdier and Larry (😔), Orthworm and Poppy, Great Tusk/Iron Treads and Rika, and Tatsugiri and Hassel). yeah i'm gonna list all the types and their corresponding trainer, what did you expect? Normal: Larry (Gym Leader) Fire: Mela (Team Star Camp) Water: Kofu (Gym Leader) Grass: Brassius (Gym Leader) Electric: Iono (Gym Leader) Ice: Grusha (Gym Leader) Fighting: Eri (Team Star Camp) Poison: Atticus (Team Star Camp) Ground: Paradox Donphans (Titan Pokemon) Flying: Bombirdier (Titan Pokemon) Psychic: Tulip (Gym Leader) Bug: Katy (Gym Leader) Rock: Klawf (Titan Pokemon) Ghost: Ryme (Titan Pokemon) Dark: Giacamo (Team Star Camp) Dragon: Tatsugiri (Titan Pokemon) Steel: Orthworm (Titan Pokemon) Fairy: Ortega (Team Star Camp) what did that accomplish?

-overly dramatic gasp- Ugly Baby?! How dare you slander the aye aye! Jokes aside, fantastic video! Grafaiai and Dunsparce have been unexpected MVPs during my playthroughs of Violet, so it's nice to see them get some screen time, but I was not expecting the final blow from a Squawkabilly of all Pokemon. A cool twist.

Now there is a strat for Violet all you have to do is get Dudunspars and have it learn 1: Calm Mind, 2: Agility, 3:Coil, 4:Baton Pass. And then, you pass all the stats onto your strongest Pokémon, and bam you have a killing machine🎉😮 Hope this was helpful 😁

How about a dark-type run? Not only is one of the starters a legal option in the run, but I also think it could lead to be an interesting run!

That is crazy. Best as I can tell, the game must be set to go into a cutscene as soon as Nemona's last Pokémon goes down, but it didn't take into account that by finishing it off with a recoil move, the battle wasn't technically over as it had to play Staraptor's fainting animation as well. Now it's got me wondering: if you finish off Nemona's last Pokémon with a recoil move that faints your own Pokémon and you didn't have another Pokémon, would the game count it as a win? Normally, such a scenario would count as a win in PVP, but a loss in PVE. But it definitely seems like this might break that rule.

12:50 Erm ackshually I do know what Dunsparce is based on. It’s based on the Tsuchinoko a mythical snake-like creature known to bring luck I think Another notable adaptation is the Yo-Kai Noko from the hit video game series Yo-Kai Watch where it is exceedingly rare and known to bring luck, with its most notable appearance being in Yo Kai Watch 2 where yo get the special “Select-a-Kai+” coin which allows you to pick from one of three Yo-Kai: Komasan with a coin pouch, Buchinyan (a special fusion between Jibanyan and Whisper which is otherwise inaccessible due to Whisper not being a usable Yo-Kai until Yo-Kai Watch 3), and of course Noko (with a cute bow). Noko can also evolve into Bloominoko at level 25, and has an alternate SUPER DUPER ULTRA EXTREMELY IM NOT JOKING ITS ACTUALLY HELL TO FIND form in all of the three mainline 3DS games called Pandanoko which can only be found exclusively through the StreetPass feature.

This run really shows just how diverse normal types can be. Also that the mohawk bird isn't as awful as I thought. Anyways, it's time for me to once again recommend returning to a No-Same Type Moves Nuzlocke. I'll just recommend B/W or Platinum again.

S: You Bloody Arrogant FOOL! You killed them all Flygon, ALL OF THEM, Because of your incompetence! F: You think I'm incompetent?! Squawkabilly, there was no saving those Pokemon, between the Skeledirge and the attack boosts, at most I only hastened their demise, and with relatively few sacrificies. S: Few? FEW?! There are THOUSANDS of Staraptors in Nuzlockes, good Birds, serving their trainers, and you let them all die. F: Squawkabilly, a Staraptors LIFE is to die, it's always been a trainers job to take them to where they CAN die. I'm not afraid to spend them, but I never waste them.

Nemona's B-team really is something, isn't it. She's already a Champion-ranked trainer when you both receive a starter, and she trains up a new team as your journey progresses, as evidenced by the encounters along the way... So where's her champion team? It might have been better to give her Quaxly, since Quaquaval just gets faster, not stronger like Skeledirge or throwing around def-setup-ignoring guaranteed crits like Meowscarada.
