In my personal opinion, weird thing, I think Erdtree Avatars are easier to fight off a horse than on. Getting knocked off a horse is the worst recovery in the entire game, and they're easier to dodge on foot than you think.

yep, I beat all of em on foot. You can basically just walk sideways for the whole holy bullets attack, and the attacks are so slow the recovery is long that you can just swing like 5-6 times every time. The only annoying one is the one in Caelid which just spams the ground bash move with scarlet rot.
