TYRE TEST: Absima Sherpa stock tyres vs Louise CR Champs

Realise this is quite an old video but wanted to say thanks. I'm considering a crawler purchase right now. I was pretty much decided on a trx4 then saw the sherpa for like 150 euros less and pretty much the same spec! Great video showing probably the single best "bang for your buck" upgrade that you could make to this machine. Thanks!

For this tires i use Hairbuns 9cm as foams,work very very well on my Yikong 4101.Nice tire test.

Nice, I have a lot of success with hair buns (although I think they are a little bigger than 90cm). Have them in all 4 of my rigs and not seen a need to change that. 🤙

That's a great question, but I'm sorry to say that I've not seen any that have been modified yet. Could be a good way to increase the performance, but not something I've ever done. Let us know if you do try! 🤙

Hi Phil, great video. I guess I'll get a CrChamp set too. I just got a new set of injora rims, they fit well but portals are not inside the rims now. Is this happend to you too?

I think you'll love the Champs! All of the beadlocks I've tried on the truck do sit further out, not something to worry about. Helps a bit on side hills but hampers the steering a little.

Hi. The Louise champs are a 1.9 tyre and are slightly taller and wider than stock tyres. They do not fit on the Sherpa wheels so you would need new wheels as well. Because they are bigger they tend to rub the wheel arches a little, so you may want to trim the arches down a bit. Hope that helps. 🤙

Not the bumper, but if you take the plastic grill off (2 screws on the inside) then you get the body colour and just black out the inside of the grills with paint or a sharpie.

Hi Phil great vids on the Sherpa, these lead me to buying one and I have just ordered the Duratrax Deep Woods tyres. You mentioned that you were getting body rub, how did you prevent it?

Hi Ian, I trimmed the wheel arches down a little, and the inner liners. Didn't get rid of it completely. Depending on the wheels you go for you could also get smaller offset hubs. Part of my issue is that the hubs offset the wheels out a bit,. Making body rub worse.

Hi, I recently started using 248 (medium) in stick form and am wondering how I managed without it. So much less mess than with the liquid. But really any medium (blue) loctite should be fine.

Sorry for the slow reply. I've got no experience with the Khamba, but it sure looks good and they made a few improvements over the original Sherpa. @@huangg01 The beadlocks are 1.9". I have the weights as well, they needed filing down a small amount to allow the wheels to fit. If the inner diameter of the wheels is 45mm or more they will fit over the weights.
