I don’t have any experience with coal. I suspect that it wouldn’t hurt a coal forge one bit though. Thanks for watching!

Can someone give me a spelling for the damascus described at 7:20 where it appears 3D due to the high layer count. I'd like to see a picture of this, however I can't seem to as every permutation I try comes up blank - Thank you!

@@TyrellKnifeworks Haha! Great minds think alike! Did you get any response? I'm sure by everyone and there brother are trying to get on. I have the whole series on DVD and I have watched it like 10 times. It's funny how the first few seasons had on the hardcore guys then later on it was the guys who were inspired by the show on. And the challenges have definitely increased in difficulty too. I think you would knock it out of the park though!

@@dylanbennett3851 Thanks for the vote of confidence! I haven't heard back yet. (And if I did, I wouldn't be able to tell you since they make you sign an NDA). I think the biggest challenge is time management and problem solving. I'm confident I could do the builds, make damascus, do canisters, forge weld san mai, etc, but when things go south and you need to adapt, that's the challenge. I'm a total couch participant though... I'm usually watching it and I'm yelling at the screen, "don't do that!" or "that's a dumb idea", but it's all easy from the couch! 🤣🤣

My favorite damascus pattern is the feather pattern if the center of the feather pattern runs down the center of the blade. I don't really like the very dark damascus unless it's polished to a very high degree.
