Looks fantastic. I may dive into the big rigs again. My poor eyes begged for mercy after the last truck i built for my boss's office with the shop name on the tanker trailer..i cant even get an appointment to get glasses for obvious reasons. Decided to convert this back to the kw used in the tv show BJ and the BEAR. Had to remove 2 " from each frame rail and reinforce the joints, but I think it is coming along nicely, so far.

Another great review Doug! I am really enjoying building the Tyrone Malone truck series! I've known of him and his awesome trucks since I first saw his Boss Truck in a book from the school library back in the early 90's when I was a little one. I am almost done with my Hideout Truck, I ordered the actual wheels that the real truck had from Mo'luminum and by the way not sure why AMT didn't call this out on the instructions but the Hideout Truck has a white chassis instead of black and a silver motor which is how I did mine. Thanks for another awesome review!

I’m doing the Hide-out truck myself right now, along with the drag truck Bandag Bandit for the Big Rig Group build. I did both the White trucks last year, the Papa truck and the Super Boss, for the BRGB. I only about halfway done with the two trucks this year, my airbrush went down, it was a cheapie anyway, but I have got another coming, a better airbrush I’m hoping?!? 🤞🏻🤞🏻! It’s a Micro Mark airbrush, so yeah...hopefully?! Anyway, good job buddy, as always! Stay safe and take care!

I’m doing one….just did a dump truck by AMT…instructions were much more detailed with METAL AXLE RODS. Another thing is non these trucks front end turns,but hey loves.

Sorry this is so late but I just recently finished the hideout truck a year after I finished the Drag Truck! I just got to the decals and realized they are confusing. How did u do all the outline pinstriping on the sides? Did u just cut all the provided stipes? Looks like there is only a couple corners and multiple of two different length strips. Thanks!

Toni, You're on the right track. There are some that are special shapes and those go in the obvious places. The stripes are all bunched up in two groups and should be cut out separately to apply them to their locations. Use the instructions and boxart to see how where they go. Add the decals to the aft (bed/ramp) section before you mate it to the cab. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
