True, plus the ref started counting 2 seconds after he should have. Wobbly legs means start the count, no need to wait until he sits down. Plus the count was incredibly slow too.

Australia had good MT fighters yes. But so do the Dutch. There's a lot of guys who fight in full Muay Thai, just not heavyweights. For example we have Mo Kamal, Marco Pique, Fred Sikking (who currently is world champion at 85kg) etc etc.

The only one scared and not good enough in that fight was Spong. Scared to fight Corbett with elbows and not good enough to avoid getting knocked out!

Sanctioned by the World Muay Thai Council and yet no elbows at the insistence of Spong's management. This wasn't a K1 or Glory event. It was a WMC event and Spong is supposed to be a MT fighter. He was the 2008 Thaiboxing cruiseweight world champion but in 2009 wouldnt fight Corbett with Elbows.

funny how Corbett's greatest weapons are elbows and Spongs' management made it clear that no elbows were allowed. I lost a lot of respect for Spong after this fight and gained a hell of a lot for Corbett

I understand the Aussies here, saying: oh Spong chickened out full thai rules etc etc. But that's not fair isn't it? Spong hasn't had many fights on full MT rules in his career, you can check that. While Corbett practically doesn't do anything else. They could've known before the fight Spong wasn't gonna go for Thai rules. If it was a problem for Corbett he could've denied the fight, but he didn't. People saying if elbows, if this, if that. There is no if people. Rematch on the way, enjoy all!

Slowinski is good, Graham was quite good. Probably never heard of Sam Greco either. Man, I know there are a lot of fighters from Holland, I'm from Holland too. But these fighters come from all over the world to train in Holland. They are not Dutch themselves. Corbett is not going to be a walkover for Spong. He is one dangerous man, with excellent timing and KO power. Don't underestimate him!

I'm a huge fan of Corbett. You guys have to understand that elbows can cause cuts more than any other strike. Corbett could have turned down the fight. Spong's managemnt must worry about his career more than anything.

K-1 dose not allow elbow's so therefor Tyron is not use to fighting with them and that is the reason he didn't allow it. If he did allow it he would be disadvantage for him.

you obviously don't know about Australia and Mauy Thai. Australia has the best Thai fighters outside of Thailand and the best muay thai fighters in the world when it comes to the heavier divisions.The Dutch are K1 specialists..

The trouble with dutch fighters is that, yes they are good, very good but chase the glory and money before the real fighters. Spong is a great fighter, he got destroyed by Corbett whilst choosing more suitable rules. Elbows are the best of all techniques. Apparently not man. Spong didn't look like he had a very hard time. Mostly showing what was seen from this fight. Out in the open on the feet he is superior and without the clinching available in muay thai I think Corbett was at a disadvantage. he's used to muay thai while spong who was already better at the "kickboxing" part has been doing nothing but that for a while now. I'm a spong fan but I kinda feel like this wasn't a true rematch. But to be honest from what i saw spong wuld still win.

And to the ignorant fool who claimed Corbett only fights smaller guys, his only two losses were against heavy weights when he was still fighting at 85kg! And he stepped up to the catch weight of 93kg to fight Spong who tried to drop down but even make weight. Not to mention the numerous bigger guys Corbett has fought and beaten. Go watch Corbett destroy another dutch based import, the 6'5" tall Frank Munoz or Michel Andrade. How about the 105kg 8 man one night tournament which he won.

Tyrone wasn't scared of the ellbows because of a ko but because of a big cut that will end the fight I think.Nathans ellbows are one of the best if not the best in the devision.It is not his main weapon but his most dangerous.
