Regardless of whether it was rigged or whatever, Fury did NOT look like the mystical undefeated champion that we thought he was. that was embarrassing for him but I guess it just shows how good Francis is..

I was surprised too that Fury looked the way he did. I really think is was Ngannou's style that put him off.

The goal is to squeeze out the most amount of money. And with this type of victory they will have a huge buildup for next fight. I’m not saying it’s rigged but it was surely considered.

I wonder if Fury was considering a rematch. I thought Fury was taking it slow until he kept taking shots. He wasn't expecting that. Who knows LOL.

@@spicemma Francis was good but Fury was to cautious because he hasn’t seen Francis box. Rematch for sure and different story then with Fury wining.

I reckon it was close... the stats show a slight edge to Fury... but the judges aren't privy to those stats and Ngannou landed the more 'telling' punches. I hope we get the rematch... because there are so many unanswered questions. Fury on the decline? Fury out of shape/motivation? Ngannou's performance of a life time, or just stylistically bad for Fury? Where is his ceiling as a 37 year old newcomer? Exciting stuff.

They score boxing differently than MMA which is more damage focused. So I think thats why alot of people feel Ngannou won. I would like to see a rematch, as I think Ngannou would be twice as good and I would Favour him to win but I doubt Fury will go back there.

Couldn't of said it better myself. People couldn't look past that 3rd round knockdown & got overly emotional. Tyson had the better stats & was the more active fighter on the night. Francis did well but Tyson won the boxing match.

Yeah the activity from Fury won him the fight for sure. I need to look at the stats too, but would imagine Fury would be up.

Not true Tyson barely did damage plus he landed an illegal elbow if Francis would do that.... well you know what would happened. I watch it over 3 times and had Francis winning it.

I did not watch the fight, as I was at work, but seeing it after, I also thought Tyson won the bout. I definitely could see why so many people saw Ngannou winning as he got the knockdown, made the fight really competitive against the arguably best heavyweight boxer of this generation, defying all the odds, so that for sure adds to the emotions and perception that Francis should have won.. But either way, I'll be interesting to see Francis' next moves, with either PFL and boxing in his plate. Great analysis, as always. Oh I agree that Francis could have done better to 💯 he looked hesitant. Tyson also looked hesitant, the rematch could look very different to this seeing as Tyson got a feel from what Francis can do. But hey 🤷🏾‍♀️ just watching 😂 love this sport stuff

I think Francis could beat many of the top heavyweights, but not due to his skill necessarily. In terms of pure boxing skill, he's still clearly below the elite top 5 boxers. He has very solid fundamentals, respectable counter striking, although he was whiffing on many of his counters and struggled with the jab a lot, and his offense isn't all there. Also, he didn't land any clean punches on Fury's chin, whereas Fury landed many power shots right on Ngannou's chin. (The power and durability difference really showed) With that said...Ngannou doesn't even need to hit someone clean--he can land a glancing blow and it does tremendous damage. And I believe Ngannou has the best chin in combat sports, he's never been wobbled by any shot and he ate Fury's best punches right to the jaw. I feel like Ngannou can get outboxed for 9 rounds, but he'll just eat all the power shots and if he lands one clean punch, it's game over. Ngannou is just broken because he's impossible to KO and I believe he hits harder than Deontay Wilder, although he's slower. So, he always has a chance against any boxer.

Great points. Yeah he certainly ate some clean shots from Fury. I hope we can see him box again soon.... but I don't think Fury would want to fight Ngannou agaiN!
