I have never backed Usyk by stoppage as a heavyweight but that is my genuine pick going into this fight. Fury hasn’t shown that he has the greatest of chins, but he does have phenomenal powers of recovery, but against who? Wilder punches much harder than Usyk, but if Usyk gets Fury in trouble, he won’t smother his work and fall in, he’ll remain measured, calculated and won’t allow Fury to hold. Fury has never fought someone as good as Usyk, and his level of opposition over the last few years has been atrocious. That combined with Fury’s clear decline and the abuse his body has taken over the years, I think it is the perfect storm for a generational performance from Usyk.

Yeah, I agree with much of this. Wilder punches harder, but single shots, which rarely land, so no accumulated effect. Single shots clearly aren't going to keep Tyson down, but an accumulated effect may be different

I love this prediction. I don’t see how usyk loses this tbh, at most I also like the draw as I agree fury will lose less rounds than aj and chisora. I don’t think ppl realise how much faster usyk is than fury and it will definitely show in the fight. I think fury’s gas tank only looks good when he is able to make his opponent more tired than him, for example in the wilder rematch, wilder was visibly drained from fury sitting on him lol. Where as with the Francis fight fury actually looked gassed in spots because he couldn’t clinch as he pleased. I see usyks foot movement being too superior for fury making it nearly impossible for him to clinch. I feel like usyk should win on points but he may even go in for the late stoppage knowing they may rob him.

Last time Fury fought an elite fighter was Wladimir Klitschko all the way back almost 7 years ago. The next best heavyweight he fought was Otto Wallin. Wilder was a bum, Whyte was washed up, and Chisora was shot. Fury body of work is alot of smoke and mirrors, while Usyk has the best resume of the last ten years of any fighter. Only way Usyk loses is by corruption, and as we saw with Kovalev vs Ward, GGG vs Canelo, and Lomachenko vs Haney, I wouldn't put it past this promotion to follow the same path.

The difference in size matters at the height reach and weight dimension but their actual punchable profile isn’t much different. Both will be as easy / hard to hit as each other. Usyk need to step sideways and forward to avoid furys jab which he fury can throw as a single punch. He doesn’t need to follow it up to win because he can jab and counterpunch.

I think that we'll know by the fifth round just how Fury's weighty jabs are accumulating on Usyk. I also want to see just how Usyk takes one of Fury's weighty power punches. I think that Fury can take a punch better than almost any fighter. Usyk has only been a heavyweight for a handful of fights. AJ was certainly a test and Usyk took advantage of AJ's sluggish style. Dubois was a challenge that no one expected. While Usyk won that fight, he did look vulnerable throughout that fight (and not just because of the low-but-not-too-low blow).

A terrif, balanced, preview and analysis. If Fury is indeed in shape, visually, losing weight does not necessarily mean healthy, dynamic, agile and strong. It may just mean lighter. We'll have to see on the night. Assuming though, Fury is lean and mean, and strong, I reckon he wins due to size length and adeptness front and back foot, inside and outside. As you know i’m a big fan if yours and love all breakdowns. I think you may not have taken the southpaw element into consideration enough. Usyk faster hands and feet, better movement but size is the equaliser. I think Usyk wins and drops Fury who will be a little bit clumsy on his feet - losing that much weight in relatively short period of time can deffo impact balance. Otto Wallin caused Fury problems, Ngannou beong a southpaw seemed to perplex fury a little as did round 1 vs whyte. I can understand your point with judging tho and feel I will likely have Usyk winning on my cards and hoping judges see it same way! Great work as always Jamie 🫡

Brilliant breakdown and I think you make a great point about it being harder for Usyk to dominate v Fury in the way he did v AJ due to the awkwardness of Fury, and even then some judges had it close. Adding to that Turki clearly wants Fury v AJ so Usyk will have to completely dominate in order to get win on the cards. I do think Usyk will be the rightful winner, but can fully see Fury being given the nod after 12 not too one sided rounds

I am just so happy we are seeing this fight. Personally I am leaning toward fury. I think fury is gonna look to keep it long with his chin tucked behind the shoulder and looking to counter. This does negate some of what usyk does and i think usyk is gonna need to burn a lot more energy to apply that foot pressure he did in his prior fights. I do think usyk has the tools to negate this but it is gonna be really hard and will depend on fury having declined (Im not completely convinced that fury has regressed as much as people make out). I also think at the media workout usyk was talking and joking saying that fury is just putting on a show and it doesnt matter etc etc and then in an instant he seems to have seen something and then focused all his attention on fury. Fury obviously did something in that ring that piqued Usyks interest and made him realise that he needs to be watching. This makes me lean toward fury but I wouldnt confidently say Fury has it.

I’m rooting for Usyk but my prediction for the moment would be Fury by decision. If Tyson is smart he should be able to use his massive reach advantage and if Usyk makes his way inside Fury should be able to lean his weight on Usyk and tire him. If Usyk pulls off the victory I see him possibly getting a stoppage from a body shot. Also, Usyk certainly is a great boxer and I wouldn’t be shocked if he figured a way to outbox Fury and win on points. We’ll find out soon. Can’t wait for fight night!

I have Usyk to win, possibly by late stoppage or retirement. The fighter I thought Fury could be, maybe back in 2013 or, would win. But the Tyson we have since then, I don't believe in. I feel, and I could be wrong, that Fury has made cherry picking an art form. He's taken the right fights at the right time, or fights that were a complete joke, kept the W, but maybe, just maybe, hasn't grown or improved for years. Usyk is the real deal. I don't think Fury has fought anyone at the top of their game, or who has genuine game. That is poor prep for me. I dont see a route to a clear Fury win. Casuals basing Fury's expected performance on his last fight ffsk. This is going to be a hard fight for both men. Fury is by far the best heavyweight that Usyk has faced, and Fury looks to be in great shape for the fight. It is looking like he is going to go back to his fast, herky-jerky style, that served him so well when he beat Wladimir. This will pose a puzzle that Usyk has never had to solve before. Usyk looks to be in the best shape too, and he is probably the best fighter for judging the distance exactly, slipping and closing the gap to counter, moving around the ring, and combination punching, that Fury has ever faced. The only thing that lets Usyk down, is his reach disadvantage, and that he will have to constantly slip Fury's clever jab, and consistently get inside it, without getting repeatedly tagged himself. Can he do this for 12 rounds ? Usyk has a 45% chance of winning by UD. Fury has a 55% chance of winning by UD or TKO. Very evenly matched.

I do agree that if Fury wins, it will be controversial. I don’t really rate sugar hill from a tactical standpoint to be honest, and with big John there I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a huge fallout in fury’s corner. Since he beat Steve Cunningham, fury’s only either fought plodders with bad feet, or tall upright guys. Usyks weakness to the body favours him fighting taller opponents as it means fury will need to give up height or range to land. Fury does have a tendency to do the unexpected, so maybe he does come in light on the back foot and outboxes usyk but I don’t see sugar hill employing those types of tactics

In the Dubois fight there was a lot of heavy body shots that Usyk coped fine with it was just that one blow that was below the border. Joshua went for the body of Usyk in both fights and none really hurt him. Of course it's not easy taking punches anywhere, but let's get a bit of perspective on this.

@@Andrew-lo6jk I’ve thought usyk late stoppage and domination for a while, but looking at the Dubois fight compared to the Joshua fights, he looked a step slower, that was 8 months ago, has fury aged him out. Also I’m convinced fury is erm ‘eating wild boar meat’ shall we say, and I think that’s what the postponement was really all about. I think he will do enough to make it close, and most people will think Usyk done enough but they will give it to fury. I hope I’m wrong

@dogsbollocksgenius9480 I think Usyk is a bag of tricks with spot on mind games of his own. Was he trying to lure Fury in with his performance against Dubois? What did he mean by his recent message to Fury? 😂 I love this guy.

@@dogsbollocksgenius9480 I think Usyk is very switched on and as such he knows the possibility of getting robbed. But that was possible both times against Joshua and it didn't phase him or happen. He's a man of faith. It's taken him tremendous faith to get this far. He'll try not to leave this one to the judges and he'll enter the ring with faith.

@@dogsbollocksgenius9480too soon to tell really, Usyk was a bit slower with DDB but he may have ramped up the speed for this one truly great performance? Also Fury osnt THAT fast, he's destroyed his body in the last 6 years, anyone in their mod 30s whose ruined themselves knows that ot is astonishingly hard to get back to peak fitness, especially if you have formerly been at actual peak fitness. So even if Usyk is slower than 2 years back, is Fury faster than AJ and Dubois who are both much more athletic.?😊

@@tk0boxing The Cunningham fight was 2013 a LONG time ago, and he got up immediately and knocked Cunningham out. Wallin he was unlucky to suffer a freakish cut requiring 47 stitches, and as such had to change his whole game plan instantly. Yet he still won the majority of the rounds and the fight. 20:20 I simply don't agree with this narrative. He beat Klitschko on PEDs by tippy tapping his way to the points win and the fights with Wilder ; while undeniably exciting , were not fights between 2 elite level boxers. That was obvious in Wilders case without the benefit of hindsight just by checking his opponents rankings and since Furys not fought/beaten an elite level fighter since , he belongs in the same 2nd tier (at best) category.

Fury by KO/TKO inside 8 rounds. Don't think Fury will let Usyk get close he'll get grabbed leanded on tired out then knocked tf out,, Fury will rag doll Usyk and tie him up hang on his neck push his head down to tire him out and walk him back to the ropes in the clinch and if Usyk pushes back in anyway he will tire his own body out because Wrestling tires you out very fast,, he's got a body weakness too,, he's got no change. Usyk is gonna have to fight a certain way just to get in range and get his shots off on Fury,, and Fury will pepper him coming in and tie him up and lean on him with a 50lbs weight advantage its over for Usyk now. If Fury is shot he wouldn't be in tremendous shape would he ? It's just logical. Usyk is 37/38 he's body can't take it anymore he was injured after the 2nd AJ fight and the Dubois fight he said he had small niggles but its nothing serious that will keep him out the ring but it shows signs Usyk is gettin old now and he's body can't take it anymore. Usyk's body is more brittle now because he's older, so he's picking up injuries frequently after his fights now. AJ can't Box he's a 7 round power puncher. All you have to do to beat AJ is keep Turing him because he plants his feet down, Andy Ruiz beat AJ it's not hard to beat AJ. There was no big names in the Cruiserweight division Bellew was the Champ and he's crap, that's why usyk dominated no big name superstars in the Cruiserweight division, AJ started Boxing at 18 years old and he's still learning on the job at 30+ pathetic.

Fury although his feet are not as quick as usyk, they don't need to be, his reach and size negate that, usyk needs to be mid range and on the front foot to cause fury any problems, I honestly don't see him being able to close that range, past furys long jab, land and exit, I think fury is gonna back him up ,like del boy did, and stop him before round 10, if he takes the mid range of usyk and keeps it long or short, he beats him Fury is also very very good and filling the space with his jab, I can't see usyk getting past it tbh

Notwithstanding how technically brilliant Usyk is, he’s never fought someone as intelligent and technically gifted in the ring as he is. And I don’t think Fury will let Usyk rack up the points throughout the rounds like he’s been able to do in previous fights. Fury isn’t afraid of being hit, which makes him very dangerous when he steps in to attack. Pin Usyk on the ropes and get those body shots in. Rest of the time clinch him and put your weight on him. But don’t stand in the middle of the ring and let Usyk take pot shots at you. Fury will want to drag Usyk into a war. I think Fury can win this if his tactics are right. C’mon Fury!!

Long jab with lots of feints but completely changing round by round. If usyk dancers around looking for chances I see fury jabbing and following up to the body. I just can’t see usyk getting in because fury doesn’t need to chase him. If the fight stays long fury wins on account of his reach. If usyk decides to come at fury and be the aggressor then we’ll see how much punishment he can really take.

Fury's not beaten an elite level fighter in his career since Klitschko and he was in his 40s at the time. Don't get me started on Wilder who never was remotely elite level despite being a World champ. Until he beats Usyk AJ Parker Zhang or even a Dubois or Hrgovic he's not even elite level never mind best in the world.

I think that the BEST version of Tyson Fury will beat the BEST version of Oleksandr Usyk. Reasons? The recent image of Fury (sans shirt) looks like he is in the best shape of his career. He's been training for POWER and SPEED. While Usyk is not a little guy, he will still have to fight inside. Fury will not be slow and calculated by Anthony Joshua. He will be countering over and over again. Fury can take a hit (better than AJ). Yet, he can throw WHEN he is getting hit. I believe that Fury will jab with hard, weighty jabs. He will use power shots to the face and torso. Usyk just will struggle to hit and hurt Fury.
