Fury didn't look at Usyk at the Press Conference. Fury didn't want to look at Usyk at the weigh in, which is why he did the forehead shove. (Like father, like son.) Either, he is actually intimidated by Usyks' strength of mind and knew he couldn't get into a stare-down as he would lose. Or he is supremely confident and didn't want anything to put even the smallest dent in that confidence, such as looking into the eyes of an unflinching warrior like Usyk.

Fury has only fought a middle aged man & a one trick pony, Wilder, who decked him 4 times. Little Joe Parker destroyed Wilder & took all 12 rounds without ever being in difficulty. Fury has cherry picked opponents over his entire career & avoided the top men. He has run from Joshua his whole career. He has been running from Usyk for over two years. To fight Chisora, who had lost 13 times, & whom he had already beaten twice. & once to fight a complete novice on his debut who completely humiliated him at his own sport! When Luke tried wrestling, & using the elbow to try to survive, Francis ragdolled him & almost dislocated Luke's shoulder. A mere glancing tap to the side of Fury's head sent him down for a 19 count. Francis was operating at 40%, as his team kept instructing him to pace himself as they were anxious about him gassing in the later rounds. Usyk took almost every round from Dubois, despite his frequent intentional low fouls. 20 in all. Then destroyed Daniels heart with a mere jab, when Daniel realised his foul shot hadn't worked. Usyk comfortably beat Chisora, who was so exhausted by round 7, that only the ropes held him upright. Derek trained for an entire year to get his stamina to a career high. But Usyk lit him up. Despite being an ex unified champion, & with 40% more firepower than Fury, Usyk was never in trouble from Joshua in 24 rounds & 72 minutes of boxing. Even in the 9th in the rematch, Joshua threw everything at Usyk's body, & was slipped so well that virtually nothing landed. In the 10th, Usyk lit up a spent Joshua, & schooled him, despite giving away 30 lbs. Joshua knocked out Klitschko. Destroyed Wallin & made him quit in 6. & wiped out Ngannou in less than 2 rounds. While Fury went the distance, & to the canvas twice himself. Ngannou didn't have a mark on him at the end. Fury was forced to cancel his post fight presser, & postpone his loss to Usyk on Dec 23rd. Fury, after having a 47 stitch cut inflicted by Wallin, could not get him out of there in 12 rounds, despite throwing his soul at him in desperation over suffering what could have been a TKO for anyone else. In only 34 fights, Fury has come within a whisker of losing far more often than Usyk in 371 fights. Ngannou won on one judges scorecard, - even though they gave Fury the nod. A loss to Ngannou would have made the undisputed fight impossible. So his 'win' was largely political.

This is a misconception when judging someone of Fury's size compared to Usyk. Fury has 7 inches more reach in each arm, that's 7 inches of extra arm in weight going into each punch, and when you punch, the extra total body weight goes into it. Look at a guy like Earnie Shavers, said to be one of the hardest punchers in boxing, but his KO rate always dropped the heavier his opponent. That's why with Usyk, despite looking "stronger", in reality doesn't necessarily mean all that much. I would rather be hit in the cheek by a fancy new, shiny claw hammer than a big, simple, dirty sledgehammer.
