From 30th May to 17th August 1997, I lived about 400 meters away from the St. Quirin Platz U Bahn station. At the time, the U1 was not yet built from Columbusplatz to Mangfallplatz, and St Quirin Platz was just one stop away from Mangfallplatz. My closest U Bahn station was thus Silberhornstrasse. I had to take a bus from St Quirin Platz to Silberhornstrasse when I went to work. I remember the U1 branch to Mangfallplatz opening only after November 1997. When I returned to Munich the next year, for a similar job, I was living in Englschalking and my closest U Bahn station was Arabellapark. The St Quirin Platz station looked very nice when it was only a few months into its revenue service. @3:45 the original rolling stock, also seen in Percy Adlon's 1985 film "Sugarbaby".
