Incredibly talented lady. The moment I heard her sing the first lines of “Gales of Song” in the trailer, I did a double take. I wasn’t even interested in anime before “Belle”, I was reaching for the skip button, but her voice was so good, I broke what was for me an unbreakable rule. I watched the trailer, then bought the original Japanese soundtrack, then the English soundtrack when it was released, then the film. Whether she was singing, or voice acting, she captured the spirit of the character of Suzu. She did with that one role what some mainstream actors and singers spend an entire career trying to do. I genuinely hope I get to see her do some more work in that regard. She’s got the gift. Whatever she decides for herself is best, but, I really hope she doesn’t just fade into obscurity, I can’t think of a more undeserved fate.

Fun fact, wife and I went to see Belle in theaters, then I was tested positive with Covid the very next day >.< Regardless, that hasn't changed how much I loved this movie and the music.
