Uppaluri Gopala Krishnamurti, known as U. G. Krishnamurti, was an Indian man who questioned enlightenment. Although many considered him an "enlightened" person, Krishnamurti often referred to his state of being as the "natural state"
Thought is the self-protecting and fascist in nature, and it will use every trick under the sun to give momentum to its own continuity. Thought controls, moulds and shapes our ideas and actions. Thought is not the instrument to help us live in harmony with life around us. That is why we create all these ecological problems such as pollution, possibly destroying ourselves with the destructive weapons that we have invented.

This is one of UG's best interviews. He looks calm and focused, delivering his genius insights one after another in a very clear and concise manner. The interviewer seems a bit lost but to his credit rarely interrupts UG in his line of thoughts. Pure Gold. A genius at his very best. Highly recomended. Thanks for uploading this gem.

In this spiritual marketplace as UG calls it with all the holy ideas and romantic idealisation-bullshit what a relief it is to listen to this extraordinary man. Someone who had nothing to sell, who refused to be a teacher or offer any concept of "how to live" a better life. Just bringing across what he found out for himself and by himself. He ruined almost every hope and believe I had and I´m grateful for that.

Just listening to UG is amazing. Been through many products in the spiritual supermarket and none really stuck on for more than six months. Finally stumbled upon UG, and may be this is a final stop. I'm really curious as what the gurus such as shri shri Ji or Sadguru Ji make of UG. UG said, If spirituality, meditational methods, silent mind etc was of any affect, it would have solved the problems of the East by now. Instead it has only turned out to be a dependable successful export product of the east and as long as there is a demand, it will continue to flourish.Thanks for this fascinating video.

From what I understand, the problem that we all want to solve cannot be solved through thinking (intellect) by putting it in a mental framework, and it is the constant demand to solve that deep rooted problem that makes our lives so miserable and desperate. Once the demand goes, reliance shifts to the Body (our true and only existence) - we are indeed just biological beings. Once that dawns upon an individual experientially, he sees the fallacy of Problems and the real place of his intellect (Thoughts). Its like saying once you understand the nature of fire, you just stop using it to douse fire.

the demand or wanting/thinking is creating thoughts and its interest lies only in its continuity but projects itself as an instrument (only instrument we have) in solving our wants/problems. But what creates the problem is the solution/wants that we have in the first place. Even a slightest control of it is a want and there it establishes its continuum. The moment we say it given momentum to continue.

Thought by itself is in contradiction. therefore breeds conflict. But all our achievements physical and otherwise have been because of thought resulting in building strong faith and pride in our thought leading to we becoming incapable without it. yet the very contradiction in its existence can never by completely hidden. And we try to solve it using thought again.

Sandeep, you should note that we are NOT mere biological beings - this idea of being biological is THE contradiction to our very nature as postulated by the Master. By the word 'body' he refers to one continuum of the expression of Nature.

ug was right about us idling in despair as machines, but concerning the destruction we might have needed to prepare for attack. but he also said we cant, we have to let it express itself because we are the fear, we are the nature so we cannot control anything once we are burned up, we simply go, even if the thought says we don't want to go.

U.G. makes a good point. Be clear as to what self really is. Its not some grand awareness or spirit or whatever. Feelings, memory, senses, and thought. And what is thought? Language and symbols and concepts, and where did these come from? From everyone else of course. And with the thought came the label system of good, bad, right and wrong. And we were told what was good and bad. Yet for some reason we really think we have choice. Alot of people have this idea that there is a me that is aware of all these things, but what is saying this? The thought. Awareness is a concept and only a concept, it is actually the false center which many fools think is the true self. It seems from the idea of a human body seeing the world, further projection has been added to oneself. We think first this human body is aware of the world and then we project there is an awareness or a soul which is aware of thought. All there is to thought is thought.
@leocarbaugh5074
@leocarbaugh5074 4 жыл бұрын
@Icy_cool Well I'm not dismissing that there's not awareness minus thought. I'm discrediting the idea that there's awareness separate from thought. In short I'm against the idea of there being a thing called awareness separate from everything living in a bag of skin. The body itself is awareness, thought itself is awareness. In short, it's ALL mind.
@leocarbaugh5074
@leocarbaugh5074 4 жыл бұрын
@Icy_cool I just thought of a clearer way to desribe what im saying. Awareness is like a mosaic, its held together by parts, and there is no mosaic if there are no parts, the parts themselves ARE the mosaic. The parts being thought, feelings, and all our sense perceptions. If the parts are gone, the awareness is gone, it happens every night when we sleep or under anesthesia.
@leocarbaugh5074
@leocarbaugh5074 4 жыл бұрын
@Icy_cool The feeling is that we are looking through the eyes but I feel that may be an illusion. We now know thanks to science that we don't look through our eyes in this way, but rather light hits the optical nerve then the brain turns it into what we actually see. So I honestly can't say where the "I" is located, in fact I see myself as the Mosaic itself, not separate from the parts. The normal sense is that I have thoughts feelings and perceptions but for me it seems that I AM those senses.
@leocarbaugh5074
@leocarbaugh5074 4 жыл бұрын
@Icy_cool Lol well I dont think we need thoughts to have feelings but we do need them to know feelings, but then we give value or try to get rid of certain ones. I think everything we have as humans served some sort of purpose for survival in the past through natural selection, and the problems arise when we try to reject aspects of ourselves and hold other parts more important. All U.G. had to go off of was his own perceptions, as do I, and as does anyone else. I like the idea of being lights onto ourselves and coming up with our own "metaphysics", I just so happen to agree with U.G. about many things I've noticed myself. I mainly like U.G. cause he cuts alot of the bullshit out of it.

43:08 "It sounds like we're trapped.." that is because we, as a human species, are trapped. Whatever created all of this designed it for us to only experience it; that's it! People say it's so that we can "grow" or "evolve" but it seems more realistic to just say we don't know...

@@Stpaul49045 UG is far too inconsistent and even a bit psychotic to come close to those systems. The via negativa aspect of any traditional approach in that regard is superior to UG, even that of christian orthodoxy or Meister Eckhart. However, the aliveness and forcefulness of his negation makes it into something special insofar as it hasn't gone through some kind of thought police to be an irrefutable "system", but that is mostly lost on us today who have no chance to sit with him. Even in that regard, though, certain phases of the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj are better. Your claim sounds a bit as if you haven't gotten around much. I am not exactly a fan of Jim Newman and his style is very different, but extremes of negation flourish everywhere.
@TheSoteriologist
@TheSoteriologist Жыл бұрын
@@Stpaul49045 _"why do you say he's psychotic?"_ You mean _"...he was ..."_ . Well, all I said was: _"even _*_a bit_*_ psychotic"_ and by that I meant the degree and forcefulness with which he was "inconsistent" and incoherent. I think that most of what he said was _literally_ as he himself said, rewinding what had been put into his mind before what he called the calamity "like a broken record". It often didn't make too much sense and contradicted what he said elsewhere. I concur with the reasons you have an interest in UG, except in my case the fascination ended a number of years ago. I think his mind wasn't integrated very well with the explosion and his expression was accordingly. I don't want to get into the discussion you asked about, I mentioned these other cases of via negativa only as examples for why I don't quite agree with your statement: _"The only tradition that comes close to his "philosophy" would be the Sunyavada philosophy of Nagarjuna or the Ajatavada of Gaudapada."_ Nisargadatta Maharaj was quite traditional even though independent. His guru Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj was in the Navnath Sampradaya. That Nath tradition is more tantric and Shaiva rather than intellectual as the tradition(s) you mentiond. You might even suspect its origins could be shaman in the original non-indogermanic population of India. So this is just one counter-example, but there are plenty.
@MGTOWbrotherhoood
@MGTOWbrotherhoood 4 ай бұрын
@@TheSoteriologist Why do you think the Hindu non dual systems are more Tantric and more "Shaman" ,in the sense that it focuses a lot on magical techniques like chants,symbols ,deities etc. as opposed to a more intellectual approach of Dzogchen and Zen? I've noticed that Hindu mystics give more importance to the physical body (and energy body) since they have developed systems like yoga and focus on "kundalini". Some Jnana yogis reject metaphysical concepts like Kundalini altogether but do you think it is real and concrete and what is its importance? I try my best to approach these things from a logical point of view but I think the supernatural element comes into play because of these yogis attaining powers that are demonstrated to even non believers. So where do we draw the line between a "head oriented" approach and a more "energy oriented" approach ? The Shaivas ,naths etc. believe in an Ultimate Shiva being (identical to Brahman of Vedanta) but the difference is practical and technical...the Shaivas believe in worshipping a form of Shiva and "merging" with it/him through Alchemical processes which also have "physical" consequences. The Jnana yogis don't give much importance to alchemy and magic or such types of "purification". Purification for the Jnani is purely mental. Not astral or energetic. Another thing I wanted to add is about yoga sutras of Patanjali and how he focuses on Siddhis more than Samadhi and even Kaivalya. Similar to the Siddha tradition of Tamilnadu.

UG denying all that is about scriptures , Gods and Godman , saints or incarnations , rebirth, religion, spirituality, meditation and enlightenment is extremely thought provoking after having seen few videos of his interviews. Even his take on Love , Empathy and charity is nothing but self satisfaction to fill the voids in us. The unique & advanced Self awareness in human beings is taking us to destructive path instead uniting with nature . We have become worse than animals as our greed has been increased day by day. Even the so called enlightened souls instead making people aware of true nature of human beings are making business out them. UG is furious because , he cannot change the world alone even though world is heading for destruction and there is no God to save except ourselves. Some enlightened (compassionate beings) are doing good societal work that may not bring urgently needed changes world needs today.

Funny thing about U G is he was allowed by to experience this particular stage of awareness through perception and “experience “ by the mind. Once you manifest your total mind you gain your other half of mind. He is absolutely accurate in the description of the mind being a reactor. However I Can easy prove him wrong that the brain is only that “reactor “ having manifested a greater degree of perception within my own mind. You have to understand that the entire world is your perception. All is mental. I will leave it at that.

these are two bodies that differ not just in look-they differ at how much and how little work nature has put into them-in UG and the interviewer respectively. I don't mean it in a bad way. It is obvious and clear-the two bodies are order apart-like a village bicycle and plane are order apart. What one can do in UG's body is realize life. What one can do in interviewer's body-is ask questions like he is blind-folded. One must be born with particular body first-for the realization. Don't ask me how. It is involuntary. But it is totally obvious the interviewer will not come to the realization in his body. Realization happens IN THE BODY.
