Hey so @ 1:48, Underoath did a livestream where they explain, this was an idea they had for a song before Aaron left the band, and they eventually ended up using it as the outro of “Who Will Guard the Guardians?”. Crazy how the mystery is answered now haha
@Paweljarski15 жыл бұрын
So envious of these guys. How awesome must it be to travel the world doing what you love, with your best friends as bandmates to boot. And they're all amazing people. They deserve it. Everything, the fame, even just being in the band itself. If I had to pick one word, it would be "Inspirational".

for those of you wondering what the song is before desperate times, it was the outro to "Everyone Looks So Good From Here" before it became the last half of "Who Will Guard the Guardians".

I love how at 1:39 on they're playing parts of Who Will Guard the Guardians. So Disambiguation does have some of Aaron on it :)

He obviously wrote quite a bit for that record. Just listening to it you can tell.
@Mariooo574 жыл бұрын
@@111whitepony111 He didn't, they scrapped almost the entirety of what they were working on before he left.
@111whitepony1114 жыл бұрын
@@Mariooo57 OK well several of the drum parts are definitely from aaron. it's his exacty style of playing and is in drastic contrast to daniel's style. on top of that, on their twitch stream aaron mentioned he wrote for the record and worked on it for a little while before leaving.
@Mariooo574 жыл бұрын
@@111whitepony111 Oh I know, I got back to this video while watching the stream. It seems like his contributions were limited to a few parts here and there. It doesn't help that most of them struggled to remember how the songs originated lol

These dudes saved my life. I dunno, they've been a huge part of my life for ten years, and I'm only twenty. They've been my rock when life gets shitty, and I wouldn't be here without them. Seeing them on their farewell tour in New York was the best day of my life, and it probably always will be.
@pkdrummer9513 жыл бұрын
In the special edition DVD for disambiguation, they said that nearly all the demos were laid out and recorded (demos) before Aaron had left. They also tweeted a little bit before Aaron left that they had finished the record. Now I know that many things changed in the studio but all the MUSIC for the songs was laid out before Daniel came in. UO writes the music before any vocals are added. Obviously Daniel "re-did" the drum parts but Aaron is probably familiar with most songs off of Disambiguati
@JeserNoob Жыл бұрын
Wonder if that means that Daniel just did his own drum fills and kept the original intended rhythms for the songs for the most part
@BrentOkuley15 жыл бұрын
You are correct. It's from the same set but the day before. For all intensive purposes it serves its purpose. There are slight variations in the performance but it is indeed Underoath live. Just one day prior.

the intro song is who will guard the guardians. they've been playing that jam for over a year now live only so its badass that they finally put it in the album.
@sheldonlotter15 жыл бұрын
The part before Desperate Times is an extended outro to "Everyone Looks So Good From Here" The audio you hear is a recording off the mixing desk from the day before the show the video was recorded. The reason its in synch is because they play to a click because they have a pro-tools rig on stage. So the songs are played the same speed all the time.
@Moka815 жыл бұрын
Wow. I love the new intro. And it's nice that the camera is from Aaron's perspective. Really talented drummer. lol.

@robertneville777 It is that part :) I was so glad to hear that it made it's way into a song! I remember when they first started creating it...it was a couple years ago, and I was lucky enough to watch it evolve into an actual song! Aaron obviously played a part in the new album, because bands don't usually quit touring and then JUST begin writing...they write while they're on tour, all the time. So many drum parts carry over
@freohr78913 жыл бұрын
@jonasharris07 Apparently they wrote "Who Will Guard the Guardians" sooner than we (or I) thought they did. They played this song in another one of their live performances too but I think it might've been the same tour.

@ksawaia i'm guessing they have different audio since the camera is filming really close, so the original audio is probably shaky, blurred, and fuzzy. They probably did it so people would have a good idea what it would sound in front of the stage because you can't get as good of a sound backstage on account of the sound systems, amps, PAs re facing forward. You will get a semi nice sound, but not the full effect.

Also, theres no ways you would get audio quality like that from a camera mic. And secondly UO dont play with any monitors on stage cause they all use in-ear monitoring so all you would hear would be the raw drum sound and faint guitar from the stacks which are facing the crowd in front.
@hotwheelz2007214 жыл бұрын
@DHDrumming They most likely got the audio of this recording from the sound system, and then just over dubbed it. Like what you do when you make a dvd. only it was just one cam.

@hotwheelz20072 you're probably right, but at 1:59 he hits the cymbal and it didn't make its sound, soo i'm just guessing it was from some other live show from the sound system since it sounds pretty good.

yeah i love it. they did it at the warped here in stl earlier. it definitely sounds like a new song or maybe something they had but scraped on the newer cd because last i heard they haven't done too much as far as new material goes. their extensions are pretty basic for songs like on everyone looks so good for here when he just does the whole "i'm sick of your silence" thing, and this had a little more to it. wanna know if it's an actual song as well.

They never flat out said none of Aaron's material was implemented into "disambiguation". When a band is forced to record a new record every two years, they're left with no choice but to write new material while on the road. The even said in the tooth and nail podcast that this was just a jam that had and they didnt know what to do with it until davison came and they were in the studio. They almost tossed the whole thing but thank god they didnt. Who will guard the guardians is my favorite track

Yeah, that's because I didn't have an audio recording from that show it was from the previous show on soundwave. I figured you guys would enjoy the closest experience to a live recording that I had the capability for. Of course I was fully aware of the exceptions where aaron played differently for this show. But in the grand scheme of things it's accurate. It's too bad that you couldn't simply enjoy it. No one was trying to trick you. Merely giving you something to enjoy. So much for that.
