As an argentinian, this case is absolutely horrifying but I can't help but laugh at argentine idioms being translated literally. "fua, altos fans" being translated as "f.u.a, high fans" and "pintas un toque" as "you paint a touch" are hilarious. This must've been an absolute nightmare to research and translate, props to you for deciphering our incomprehensible slang lmao

@@MilqueeWayGaming "fua, altos fans" would translate to "wow, [you all are] such fans" and I guess the context was the guy ironically calling people on reddit his "fans" for calling him out. "Pintas un toque psico" means "you seem a little psycho"
@sakuramikichan11 ай бұрын
@@MilqueeWayGaming "Fua, altos fans" would be something like "whoa, amazing fans", lol. "Soy famoso, papá" would be "I'm famous, dude" "I'm going to eat your mom at any moment" is also badly translated, "comerse" can also mean "makeout with/even fuck", so piece it together. "From what it looks like so raaa" also is mistranslated, OP was calling someone a rat, meaning stingy. "You paint a touch" was originally "pintás un toque psycho" (this one was very funny tho lol) it means "you're giving off psycho vibes/seems a bit psycho" "Let's break the eggs for a while" (also hilarious) is "vamos a romper los huevos un toque" and it means "let's mess around for a while" "I'll leave you with a crazy hug" is "te dejo un abrazo loco" and it means "I'm sending you a hug dude" (loco is another way to say dude here) "What a skinny garron" (Google translate is wild) was "Uh que garrón flaco, fuerza, mis condolencias" and it really means "Oh, that's fucked up man, chin up, I'm sorry for your loss" Those are the funniest ones, but all in all it was an amazing job for somebody who doesn't speak Spanish, let alone our unique brand of Rioplatense, haha. Women going missing or being murdered in latin america is sadly an everyday occurance. It's stated that at least 10 women die in mexico everyday. Hardly any of those cases make the news, and when they do they never give any updates on the murderer or the investigation.
@FaustianSpirit199711 ай бұрын
I can assure you as an Argentinean living near Castelar that, indeed, there hasn't been any updates regarding Ema's murder, likely due to our very incompetent and inefficient police force and the fact it happened on mid 2020, with the entire country quarantined. It gets brought from time to time in r/Argentina and it's always hitting a dead end once you go past Daniel's arrest. I'm speculating with this but he is probably still in jail and awaiting trial. As for whoever is behind the NoromNorom account, it could be that someone hacked it and is using it for trolling purposes, like what happened with Carl Herold's account. With Dross he was refering to DrossRotzank, the most popular Spanish-speaking horror youtuber who made a video about this topic shortly after it went down. He didn't lied, he presented the facts the same way you did so Daniel or the guy behind NoromNorom was being delusional. Good for you for adding that back-and-forth with the Redditors calling him out. I remember following this case and its updates since it happened on my city and still remember feeling shocked when the truth came out so thanks for covering this gruesome case in a respectful manner, Double I 👍👍

Thanks for confirming all this! Are there any local rumors or anything else you can add? Not that it'd be solid evidence of any kind but I'm just curious. For example, did you hear the suggestion that Daniel's brother was responsible for the murder and framed him? Any idea why anyone thought this? 🖤
@loo947411 ай бұрын
@@TheInternetInvestigator Sorry to interrupt, I live near Castelar. As far as I saw on TV and other media, they didn't even mention that he had a brother. The story was"son kills mother and buries her in the yard" end. Maybe some did cover the story well, but as my compañero says here, everything was very inefficient and was overlooked, like many other cases.

@@TheInternetInvestigatorAn internet portal called Infobae mentioned an older brother, twenty-five years of age, reporting his mom's disappearance but nothing came after it, and some users at the Argentina subreddit were asking in a now deleted thread if there was some sort of footage regarding the case but that's another dead end. Said footage either doesn't exist or it's guarded by the police, thus making it a piece of unreleased media. It's frustrating how little is it known but it's the way it is. I just hope that Daniel pays if he really was behind all of it so Ema's spirit can rest in peace once and for all. Unfortunately, the violent murders of women have become a pretty common thing around here so that's another reason why this case was quickly forgotten.

I have a suggestion for a potential video topic. I found a subreddit called r/schoolfights2 which is basically a place for kids aged 12-20 to post videos of themselves beating each other up. There’s a pretty twisted side to this though. Most videos uploaded there are consensual fights, but there are also posts of things like teenagers being jumped by several people at once, or younger kids being beaten up by older kids. (I’ve seen a video where an 11 year old gets his face kicked by two 17 year olds) There’s a huge amount of new content like that being uploaded to that subreddit every day, a lot of which seems to be uploaded by the bullies themselves. It’s more common to find these posts if you sort by newest.

This was also during the height of the pandemic in Argentina. We have been going downhill for a while now, but during the pandemic it was really tough, especially for those who lived in the province. Morón is not known for being an affluent area, and places like Barrio San Juan less so, so adding the economic context and the restrictions in place at that time, it made a lot of sense to everyone that she could possibly have a second job her children didn't know about, especially since most people have second jobs or side hustles here, no other way to live with inflation as it is

One idea: some subreddits will not allow a brand new reddit account to post. So it sort of makes sense to "borrow" a more established account if someone is missing and time is of the essence. As far as making a new account after the original one got wrapped up in all this, it sounds like the "friend" has made a new account for their daily posting, they just log back into NoromNorom when they are mentioned. Having multiple usernames is pretty common, when there was a plethora of reddit apps many handled multiple usernames really smoothly.

I wonder if the account was created and used by the best friend, and they allowed Daniel to post on it maybe because they already had some connections compared to a brand new account. Maybe they also gave Daniel access because they believed it would gain more attraction when it was a first-person recount rather than him speaking on behalf of Daniel. I also wonder if maybe when he said "my brother", he didn't mean his biological brother, but perhaps they called each other brother as a nod to their tight bond, and he maybe even called Daniel's mother mom as well if they had known each other since they were young. I knew lots of kids who would start to their close friends' parents mom or dad because they were like an extra parent. So overall, there was the best friend, who has owned this account for a while, who gave Daniel, a friend who he calls his brother, access to publicize his mom's disappearance, but later learned that Daniel killed his mom. I also don't know why he would try to hard to stick to that account, maybe because of the points or badges it has earned, but some people are just stubborn.

But maybe if they are religious, something like bartending may be frowned upon. Or it could be a job that is more associated with men, and if part of their religion/culture includes strict gender norms, that might explain why she hid it. Or, maybe they were having financial issues and she didn’t want her son to know it was bad enough that she needed a second job. Maybe if their relationship wasn’t healthy, she was doing this as a way to get away from him for a few hours. Maybe she is saving to move and considering leaving him in their current home, while saving for a new one. I had to hide my job from an abuser for similar reasons to this.

The translation is awfully bad. Please work with or consult native speakers next time or modify the text a little bit so they make sense. Im from Argentina and I could hardly make sense of the comments. Anyways, great vid

If he's in jail why didn't he confess who used the reddit account?. Or maybe he somehow got access to reddit while in prison but wouldn't that be weird? The account should have been terminated by reddit.. it's just too inconsistent and surreal, we know for a fact the murder took place but who committed it and why?, why was she reported missing if she was killed by her own killer?... Really obscure case as well since there is almost no info on it
