As a WW2 living historian I can tell you it's a great uniform. It's versatile and can be mixed. The Pinks&Greens had a chocolate shirt and a tan shirt. There were a tan or green tie. Their was the regular jacket and the so-called "Ike jacket" and the B-13 jacket that was similar to the "Ike". All the different combinations were wonderful, it was uniform with a touch of flair. We wear both good reproductions and original uniforms including original shoes.

Finally, this was a great uniform and it is good to see it again! The material is better and it is great to see the Army went first class on this. It is well worth the cost. We made much less in the 70's and you had to get several different types of uniforms and it was even worse for female soldiers. We wound up spending much more in real terms when you considered our pay. Many of us got some of our uniforms from the Thrift Shop so that we would not have to dig so far into our pockets and the clothing allowance never covered all the expenses. The Army Uniform that followed the Pink and Greens was bad and that is what I had when I first came in. My relatives who served in World War II (my uncles and step father) looked so much sharper than we did in the 70's. The the changes after that until now went from bad to worse. "The Blues" belong back in a formal setting and that change back to tradition is really welcome news. As a retiree, I am so happy to see our young soldiers and officers back in a uniform that makes them look sharp. It really improves Our Army's appearance to me. What a fantastic improvement. Army Strong!

As a 25 year US Army NCO retiree, I an happy to see the US Army return to it's "Military" roots with the Pinks & Greens. It represents a proper Service Uniform. Not the wanna be business suits I wore after 1979, which never looked right. The only exception are my Dress Blues, which are back to being a Special dress uniform as it was intended to be. The Army got off course in years past following the Air Forces idea of a uniform, but should have stayed with the Traditional uniform as the Navy and Marine Corp had. I am glad to see a return to what was best and traditional.

Dad served in the Army in Vietnam. I've always loved the Army green even as an ROTC cadet. Ultimately I ended up enlisting in the Navy, just in time for the switch back to the iconic crackerjack uniform. In the 1940s the Army had more uniforms. The new AGSUs are patterned only on the winter service uniform. Then in addition to that there was a summer version which was the summer khaki service uniform. So if you wanted to stick to WWII tradition, you could have added a summer service uniform in addition to the winter service uniform. Then of course there was the "Ike" jacket and authorized only for "ETO" personnel. I noticed that with the new class B uniform, army personnel are wearing their neckties hanging, but in WWII when not wearing their service coat, those ties were tucked into their shirts according the regulations.

Little issue with the design of the new 'pinks and greens', while I get that the idea is to make army soldiers stand out and look "sharper", which there is no doubt that the WW2 era class-A uniforms were the best looking, the design of the new ones is based solely on that of the officers class-A and not the enlisted. It was only officers that wore the Pink &Green design, enlisted men wore the regular OD wool version as part of their service/field uniform. So, is the idea to make everyone in the army look like an officer?
