Marcos requirements Basic Indian Navy training, 5 week selection called 'hell week' where 20hrs of exercise everyday, after that they are sent for 3 special forces training which is done fully in a navy ship which includes multiple scenarios, helicopters scenarios etc, divers course, after this every soldier is sent to US for a full navy seal training. For this reason they are also provided by a trident badge which is same as the one worn by US Navy seals.

You're right toward the end. They made a fantastic movie named Madras Cafe depicting the incidents of LTTE in Sri Lanka and the events leading to the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. You're 10/10 correct for your facts professor. 1) Daadhi Wala Fauj means bearded army. They grow full beards to go in disguise with the locals while collecting intelligence. I have heard that there is a funny coincidence with the terrorists. Even after they remain in complete secrecy, then also terrorists go in hiding and stop their activities because they get the sixth sense, that the dangerous bearded boys are here i.e, their doom is here. :D 2) Madras Cafe also shows a very accurate picture of the LTTE problem and India's deployment there, which is played by John Abraham.

Ohk! Against LTTF, it was para which saved the hostages but there were MARCOS for S&D. Only four of them went in for the operation, swam for 4 hours completed the task, swam back to response beacon. The wulur lake talked about in the fact, only 2 MARCOS are in charge of the entire 65sq km of the lake. MARCOS are less heard off because they are closely guarded. They are best in business with training topping both seals and Brits special forces

Marine commando isn't necessarily referring to a unit like the US Marines. Its more like Marine (Maritime/water) Commandos, referring to the Navy just like the Navy SEaLs. :)
