Thing is, a lot of those people have probably never even served. I'm a tiny ass dude, but I still served as a Hospital Corpsman, with the USN FMF. And served 2 tours to the shit box, granted this is not special operations by any means, but it's still a challenging pipeline once you hit FMTB. Perseverance is the number 1 thing, you need.

My nephew just signed up with the Navy after he gets past all the grueling work. He will be flying F-18. He has already done flight school got his hrs in and will be an officer. Really proud of him. His father flew Apaches F64. My other brother-in-law flew Black Hawks. Its in their blood.

Charles Harmon word of advice, DO NOT get a seal contract while I’m DEP. the majority of people who make it through are fleet returnees. Get a legit rate and finish training. Use the 2 year fleet requirement to train even more and you’ll boost your odds so much more

It's crazy to think what some veterans have seen. My uncle went to the Marines when he was 17. Was deployed straight to Iraq for 1.5 years then was deployed to Afghanistan. The stories he has from both are just insane. The news never truly tells you how ruthless terrorists groups can be.
