Dear viewers! Thank you for your patience. 🙏 I had to reload this video to improve the quality of my presentation. I hope I fixed everything I needed to. Please know that the arrows on the map point to the states, but not necessarily the location of each capital city. Also, remember that different dictionaries and textbooks represent sounds with different symbols. You'll note, for example, that I prefer to use /ɚ/ to represent the "er" as a vowel sound, as in "Dover." /ˈdoʊvɚ/ In the end, I think it's more important to trust your ears and listen to my model. Look in the video description for other resources you can use. It's very helpful to hear different models. Train your ears to accept variations. Most of the variations in state names concern the vowel sounds. We become familiar with a number of variations, so we understand each other. Vowel sounds and word stress are very important. This is why I've begun to promote a pronunciation app called Blue Canoe. I appreciate their methodology, and I've decided to be one of their affiliates. I invite you to use my link to sign up and try this self-study app for free. 👉👉👉👉 bluecanoe.onelink.me/Tb6l?pid=affiliate_english-with-jennifer&af_dp=bluecanoe%3A%2F%2F Happy studies!🌼🌻

Dear Jennifer: I have followed you longer than the time I have been a subscriber. I used to recommend your channel to some students in Brazil where I lived for nine years. I moved back to El Paso in 2016, and last year I came to teach 4th and 5th grade in Manokotak, AK, a remote Native village. Thank you for all these years of support as I am an eternal English learner, as I tell my students. I was born and grew up in Puerto Rico and avoided learning English for a long time. I still consult your videos once in a while. Once more, thank you, and keep up the wonderful work!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I'm very pleased to know you've been aware of my work for a while. I'm even happier that you trusted my lessons enough to recommend them. I think it's perfectly natural to check in every now and then and see what's new. There are so many lessons posted every day by many teachers. If you find a lesson of mine that's relevant to your needs at any given time, that's wonderful! Your teaching experience sounds fascinating. Take care and thank you for the support.

Hello Jennifer! Good to see you! What an excellent lesson! I liked especially the part that is referenced to regions of the US. I haven't heard or seen such info before. Also, to be fair, to remember geographical names it's difficult. That isn't depended on the language, I think. Stay safe!
@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 4 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it! Indeed, it's hard to keep all the info in your head. Truly, if you don't use it a lot, you just forget. But having knowledge of the regions helps. We can be more vague this way. We say things like, "He moved out west." or "He lives on the West Coast now."

Hi Jennifer. Yes, you have fixed everything a great video. I would be sorry not to see this one. I like the geography and particularly the US is very interesting and so is their history. Well, we have 6 states to talk about it 6 days per week and 2 territories one for the rich and one the poor. 🙏 Canada has 10 provinces because Justin Trudeau has only 10 fingers.🙏 But, America is different 50 states and what about the American Samoa, Virgin Island, Porto Rico, Hawaii, what else? I hope next time you will make a lesson about the US Confederation, members of the Congress and Senate. So, 105 or 106 senators 2 from each state have a star on the US flag and the rest just a chair in the White house. At least something! ✨ The most interesting thing for me is the US flag the 7 red lines. You know, all Eastern European and Balkans were the migrants from the East. But the most spectacular and lager group were the Arpadi tribes in 895 AD the HUNS (also known as Finn-ugor tribes). Over half a million people estimated 300 different ethnics origin a polyglots,etc. The story goes on, they want to find the safe heaven and form the nation in needs and will. So, 7 tribes signed the agreement with they mixed blood on the white cloth, 7 red lines what became the national flag of Hungary until 1867. American 13 states copied the same pattern and also have 7 red lines on their national flag. ⚡️ 🙄

Hi. Yes, it would be interesting to talk about all the U.S. territories. Hawaii became a state, for example, but Puerto Rico remains a territory. Flags are interesting, too. I like learning about many different aspects of history. It seems like you do too!
