One of our completely restored WWII-era M5 powered linking & de-linking machines. These machines were originally used at U.S. arsenals and ordnance plants for linking/de-linking 50bmg ammunition at a rate of 6,000 rounds per hour.

The delinking mode does not seem to be as enjoyable as the proper delinking via Browning M2...

Genius machine. I love all this old tech. No digital electronics. No safety guards. It would just as easily link 50 cal as delink your fingers from your hands and would not care either way.

If you need to ask how much for this machine, you probably can't afford it.

My question at the moment is where and how the links are fed into the machine

At about 1:33"The camera shows a silver slide on the far side of the machine and that's where the links are.

Once linked, why would you delink?
@InertOrdnance
@InertOrdnance 7 ай бұрын
Often times mil surplus 50cal is sold linked. If you're buying it for a single-shot 50, such as a Barrett, de-linking is what you need

It looks like that if you put something in the wrong way it would start spitting out 50cal in every which way but loose lolololol

Silly question here, has anyone ever used the DE-linking function? Id so, why? I have never heard of ammo being returned in enough quantity, to justify the paperwork.

Хрень какаето. Русские ручные машинки намного лучше! У них электричество и помещение будет под обстрелом????

This video would be much more educational if you would have explained what was going on, rather than just demonstrating the tool. The most obvious question is, Where and how are the links introduced into the end product, rather than just magically appearing as a finished belt. I have many other questions that may have been answered by a simple narration of how the machine is set up and operated, rather than just filming the machine operating.

At around 1:30" The camera turns and pans towards the rear of the machine. Looking there you can see a silver rectangular slide that's where the clips are and they feed out of that into the gearing alignment teeth shown around 2:18". Which is where the mechanism pushes the bullets into the links.
