So did I...🤣....it took at least 2h to get the same sound with my pedalboard. Then I began to get the solo. Kinda easy as well, but hard to get this guitar cryin' like he does...As Bono said : "He's Mister Spock to us"

Sunshine, sunshine Sunshine, sunshine I was lost between the midnight and the dawning In a place of no consequence or company 3:33 when the numbers fell off the clock face Speed dialing with no signal at all Go, shout it out, rise up Oh, oh Escape yourself, and gravity Hear me, cease to speak that I may speak Shush now Oh, oh Force quit and move to trash I was right there at the top of the bottom On the edge of the known universe where I wanted to be I had driven to the scene of the accident And I sat there waiting for me Restart and reboot yourself You're free to go Oh, oh Shout for joy if you get the chance Password, you, enter here, right now Oh, oh You know your name so punch it in Hear me, cease to speak that I may speak Shush now Oh, oh Don't move or say a thing

So this guy , wanted to end it all. At 3:33 am . Drove to the scene of an accident /his suicide. He tried calling anyone for help. No signal at all. Then, his phone rings, and someone convinces him to change his mind. An Unknown caller. Called .(Your name ), punch it in. . Don't give up..

Don’t Speak, or say anything Edge…
@GuadalupePicasso8 жыл бұрын
It's a pity that this song very may boast their worst ever chorus, as it also boasts one of Edge's best ever solos. Also, it's also a pity that Bono and Edge are so damned obsessed with having songs on the radio, as it's a known fact that they essentially either shelved a lot of the material recorded in Morocco or tamed it down..... all in attempt to be more poppy. Fez - Being Born is, seemingly, the only song from those sessions that was "allowed" on the album without being turned into something fluffy like I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight, Get On Your Boots, or Stand Up Comedy. Seriously, beyond those three songs, the album is actually pretty decent..... but, "decent" is about the best that I can say about it, as it could've been so so so much more, if only they didn't let their "radio hit" ambitions get in the way of their songwriting. Don't get me wrong: I love this band, and will be seeing them my 9th (and, maybe 10th and 11th) time this summer. Also, as this song is finishing just as I'm finishing my treatise, it is sad to see how Bono clearly thinks that this song is far better than it is, as he tries to get the crowd to sing along. It was even worst at the Chicago show that I saw on this same tour. The show was phenomenal, but they had far too much faith in the album than the album itself merited.

I personally don't mind this song's chorus. The lyrics suck but the guitar an vocal style is great
@scottbeckstead337 жыл бұрын
I don't think the chorus is bad at all...I actually like the lyrics.

I had the same thinking after this album came out. Brian Eno sounded dissatisfied with the end result in some interviews at the time...

Wait, so the critique here is that the band wants to write songs that people listen to after being a band at this point for 30 years? It’s not 1987 anymore. Where U2 could put out whatever they wanted and it would likely have been a hit. U2 has to compete to be heard. Unknown Caller btw, is the furthest thing from a radio friendly song. Everything on radio is either a revenge song or a she doesn’t love me song. This song is weird in a good way. I get the critique and it’s true to an extent. It just isn’t used right here.
