U2 - Angels Too Tied To The Ground

The number one reason why I love the remastered Deluxe Version of War! At least one track I never heard before and I really like.
I must admit that I'm happy to have all the songs on CD now, but I'm a bit angry because I searched for ages to collect all the B-Sides I possess now (they are mostly of a poor quality, though...) and now they release a CD which could have saved a lot of my time :(
I'm not quite sure whether this is really an old track they never used on any of their records or it's a new song. When I compare Bono's voice then and now and listen to the song... hm???
Anyways, I think I mixed up many of the pics, because it's hard to find pictures of the War Era!! I think this vid deals with pictures from 1982 to 1985.

The production really sounds like the October album, not War, which was more stark sounding. Be willing to bet this was actually left from the over October sessions; would have fit perfectly on that one.

I hear people debating whether this was from either the October, War, or Unforgettable Fire sessions. Regardless, Bono's vocals here sound far more recent than either, though the music certainly sounds like it could be from either of those album sessions.

@RattleAndHum1988 Yeah, even from the first burst of his voice, you can tell it's an older Bono singing. It's not as piercing as something from, say, New Years Day...This could be a similar case to Sweetest Thing, a song that was written for one album, but left off and not properly recorded until a later date.

I'm somewhat of a newcomer to U2, after listening to the majority of the album tracks and B-Sides of "War", I'm definitely buying this along with "The Unforgettable Fire" as my next U2 albums. I currently have "Boy" (which I love) and "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" (which I adore). Most recently everybody's been talking about "No Line on the Horizon".

This ranks amongst one of U2's best B-sides I've heard by them. I bought "War" a couple of weeks ago, and it ranks amongst one of the greatest albums of all time. It thoroughly reflects off what's happening in America right now. WE NEED A THIRD PARTY!!!!

Interesting...like this song! sounds like the instrumentation and backing vocals from The Edge are from 82-83 with Bono's vocals done with the remaster just a few years back.

Bought the 2008 remasterd version of War last year and this song isn't on it. So I should have chosen the Deluxe version.... I hate this, because I love this song! Thanks for the upload. Otherwise I would never have heard it.

Pop might be their best album, it's the last time they actually pushed themselves creatively and made something that sounded unique and inspired. It's full of good to great songs. ATYCLB was also very good, but it was the start of them being more obsessed with commercial success than actually writing good/interesting music, and each album has been a bit less good than the last. It baffles me how people brainlessly trash Pop but try to defend NLOTH, SOI, and SOE.
