Back in 1991 when i was 17 and just finished high school i worked in a mall where they played this song from a cassette player. I ddnt know who the singer was back then but it has become my fav chrismas song ever since. It is oct 2019, and i come back and listen to this song ,sung by U2 only.

Most of the people, probably, have never noticed this, but one of the most important and fantastic things U2 has had since the very beginning... is Edge's singing. Edge has such a great and clear voice, as awesome as any lead singer of so many legendary bands! And he sings! He sings so perfectly, while he plays the guitar like we know... It's just amazing. And, in this song, that happens all the time! Pay attention to it... That's what makes this version so fucking perfect. Love these bastards!

This is another of my favorite rockin' Christmas songs. I know Darlene Love did a great one too, but this has special memories cause it was on the very first Very Special Christmas album. I got it as a gift for my birthday the year it came out. I just about wore the grooves off that thing. That little house on the ridge in the cotton field was jumpin' while those Christmas cookies were bakin'!

I remember watching and taping this on broadcast TV over 20 years ago (on exactly 12/23/1987) and thinking the exact same thing--"look at the look on the Edge's face!" Cracked me up then and cracks me up now.
