@@alexandriaocasio-smollett5078 A standard guitar has 6 strings. The 2nd string from the bottom (otherwise known as the “b” string, as it is tuned to the “b” note). A lot of the Edges solos can be played on this string alone.

The band polished over decades to shine and sparkle like diamonds. 57 Les Paul gold top sounding like cream and the chemistry and timing of the group coming off like clockwork. Bono working the room like a magician. Catherine zeta jones eyes sparkled like magic when he touched heads with her. Rock royalty humbled and paying homage to a master frontman. The song is no less than the New Testament come to life.

I’ve always enjoyed the song. It’s on the best album they’ve ever made(Achtung Baby)... But it wasn’t until it finally hit me that this song is a conversation between Jesus and Judas that took it to an entirely different level. “waves of regret.. waves of joy.. I reached out to the one I tried to destroy.. He said ‘wait till the end of the world’”. When they wrapped the 80s and said that they were going to chop down the Joshua Tree… They sure did it with songs like this.

I'm glad they chose to play this one particular song at the Induction. It's the classic Edge sound and reminiscent of earlier U2.

This video is a perfect microcosm of what is IMO the single most important factor in U2’s overall success and longevity hardly anyone ever talks about - The demeanor and style of performance of Adam and Larry. Its easily among the most important aspects of what has enabled U2 to last an unprecedented amount of time without any lineup changes while also experiencing all-time levels of critical acclaim and commercial success. In an industry dominated by ego, megalomania, pathological levels of self-centeredness, etc, their willingness to allow the personalities and style of Bono and Edge to dominate the spotlight whilst being content standing in the background without any manufactured attention is virtually unheard of. Especially considering their contribution musically is equal to Bono and Edge.. while general public perception (except for most U2 fans) is anyone could fill their shoes bc Bono Edge are the sole reason for the band’s success.
