People complaining about U2 being political is like people complaining that the sun is hot. They've been that way from the beginning. If you don't like it, don't listen, or go to the shows. But don't act all incredulous and critical. That's who Bono is, and largely he is passionate and intelligent about it.

I notice An Sang Soo Chi is not up there. Her stock seems to be down in human rights circles.
@madamx74227 жыл бұрын
Robert Blaskiewicz it definitely went down in the last few years
@ItsNotDarkYet7 жыл бұрын
Aung San Suu Kyi isn't on their screens anymore b/c the military junta in Myanmar isn't holding her as a political prisoner. Which human rights circles has made her stock go down? You do know that her government only controls parts of the country, right? - The military still has a hold on key political candidates and social circles throughout their country. Blaming her without knowledge of the subject makes you look like an idiot- Also, learn how to spell her name before posting again. LOL GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND, Robbie.

The fact that she has not protested, and in fact laughed off the genocide of the Rohingya, a Muslim minority in Myanmar. There's ample evidence that it is happening. And fuck you sideways for telling me how to "spell" a transliterated name. www.nytimes.com/2016/05/09/opinion/aung-san-suu-kyis-cowardly-stance-on-the-rohingya.html

First night they're playing it in a long time. It's not going to be perfect. I could give a fook about the images on screen, it's about getting to hear the Edge play that guitar.

Now I understand why the played Elevation... with that boring audience...
@lawrencebader93997 жыл бұрын
I agree. The sing-a-long attempts were terrible. Dont know if its the Vancouver crowd, or the fact the audience is mostly made up of 40 to 50 year old middle class moms and dads who want to sit back and watch.

"poverty is sexist"? Just think about that for a second and tell me exactly why it makes sense, because I can't see it. I'm a huge u2 fan but their turn into accepting and parading the new liberal-neofeminist agenda makes me doubt they even stopped to consider what they're standing for.
@jamesadcock52357 жыл бұрын
Robert Irlbeck true can't work it out surely poverty isn't sexist
@jimcuifolo18987 жыл бұрын
...poverty hurts women and the children they care for the most which perpetuates a cycle. thats not bs.

Robert Irlbeck poverty is absolutely sexist! I'm a woman with a lower salary and a worse employment than men with much less skills. We r the slaves of XXI century

As a massive u2 fan who rates Ultraviolet as one of my top 5 u2 songs ever, I am very disappointed with what they have done here. This song is about the Holy Spirit, and the song somehow loses a lot of meaning with the feminist angle they are putting on it. The images of all those women also detracts from what this song stands for.
@bono10837 жыл бұрын
I've been a U2 fan for well over 22 years now....but fuck this bullshit. One of my favorite tracks drowning in the bullshit going on behind it. To consistently throw political bullshit into classic tracks is so incredibly obnoxious (yeah I get it, U2 has always been a political band but to alter a songs meaning to cover an agenda kills me). The icing on the fucking cake though is including Lena Dunham.........I can't wait for that to be shit on at the Arlington gig

SO,you are trying to spread your lies on a other msg..you are a troll..a nobody,nothing..not worthy of being on this page..first time,it could be a mistake..second time,it's willingly..She was not present at that time,and after being framed,for being a seller of weapons,not for murder, and a fake jury she is released with excuses and no charge being held against her EVER,,,you flagrant liar..You know nothing about it..You are the same type of person who cheered when MLK was murdered..when Kennedy was murdered.You cried when Nixon had to be removed due to Watergate..It's the same time frame,the same dark white people bulling the blacks..the KKK...Angela Davis is a HERO..and U2 knows this..They are not wrong..A true freedom fighter..seems u2 is doing the right thing..Educating the morons ..A few more of them you can find on this page and other pages of u2 video's..Lonely scum.Long live Powerful women..Luckily we see more and more of them..on any topic..

@lawrencebader93997 жыл бұрын
search "Ted Nugent" or "Toby Keith" and enjoy. U2 is not for you. Their "activism" has always been a part of who they are... AND,... ummm, they have been and may still be the biggest act in the world,... been that way for three decades. "What a band", huh!??
@npen67797 жыл бұрын
Ted Nugent and Toby Keith are true American patriots who support our military and traditional values. For U2, who is not even an American band, to inject themselves and their liberal views into US politics is crazy and ridiculous. Not to mention Lena Dunham is a foul and disgusting person. The band is becoming a joke when every song has to have some sort of feminist/homosexual/progressive message expressed on the video screen.
