I think the real problem started at 3:42, when Bono started in on the line "in my dream, I was drowning my sorrows ..." Even if he wanted to stretch out that segment, that was not the right moment (beat) to start that line, which then obligated the band to adjust accordingly. Then a few moments later Bono realized the problem and tried to tell them to "stay where you are," but by then they had already adjusted to accommodate his first mistake!

Is this the first time they've used the album version intro? Their live performances always start with the shredding guitar, but this might be the first time they've used the bongo+Adam bass intro to start the song. :o

Yes, this is the first tour on which they did it that way. Edge is still doing a little light flecking on his strings over Adam's baseline, but nothing like the heavier slide-shredding like he did on previous tours.

I think that one was on Bono, he came in too earlier and gradually tried to find the band but it was about a 5 second train wreck really only, not a bad recovery!
