Lyrics:
You got a face not spoiled by beauty
I have some scars from where I’ve been
You’ve got eyes that can see right through me
You’re not afraid of anything they’ve seen
I was told that I would feel nothing the first time
I don’t know how these cuts heal
But in you I found a rhyme
If there is a light you can’t always see
And there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light, don’t let it go out
And this is a song, song for someone
This is a song, song for someone
You let me in to a conversation
A conversation only we could make
You break and enter my imagination
Whatever’s in there it’s yours to take
I was told I’d feel nothing the first time
You were slow to heal but this could be the night
If there is a light you can’t always see
And there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark within and without
And there is a light, don’t let it go out
And this is a song, song for someone
This is a song, a song for someone
And I’m a long long way from your Hill of Calvary
And I’m a long way from where I was and where I need to be
If there is a light you can’t always see
And there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a kiss I stole from your mouth
And there is a light, don’t let it go out

Yeah. The tree was what made me fall apart. I spent fourteen years in a maximum security facility and watched a tree grow from my vantage point behind the wall. The day of my release I went to and sat under that tree for sometime until I was able to move on. First time watching this video. U2 beautiful song Woody great actor. Thank you

I was introduced to U2 as a kid at my friends house when MTV first played New Years Day. I have been a fan ever since! I have every cd and had every cassette until a hurricane flooded my home and left all my cassettes in a foot of sludge. CD's can be washed off...Cassettes are just music covered in ocean mud after a hurricane.

In '93 or '94 I was a college kid hitchhiking down the Central Valley and got picked up outside of Porterville by a limousine chartered to take two ex cons home to LA - probably from South County - by their homies: one a black dude in brand new khaki brown Dickies, the other a latino in crisp new dark blue jeans and white ribbed tank. They were quiet and I was grateful for the ride, though we should have parted ways at Bakersfield, since my destination was up the Owens Valley...on the drivers advice I got off at the 5/138 interchange and found my way to Lancaster, not far from Mira Loma where this film was shot. Back at the college I began to read Prison Life magazine. This album came out just before my kid was born - arrived on my iPhone without my permission - and it would sometimes play in the car when I drove him to daycare, again without my request. My wife's been gone almost a year now...cancer...and I'm trying to figure out what comes next. I'm not gonna quote lyrics. I'll just say...grief is a heavy-ass bucket you carry around, that's always filling up, and sometimes you take a hit and some of it spills out. Then it's lighter, for awhile. This one's a hit.

This video takes me back to my prison release day. U2’s song and Woody’s acting help me relive that experience of gratefulness mixed with anxiousness. With few words and pure heart felt emotion Woody’s facial expressions and the beautiful music take me back as if I just finished my eight year sentence. This is a song for someone like me, to remind you of second chances. God wants to give you a second chance, all you have to do is receive it 🙏🏼

Yeah you can watch it forever. Don't make your faults ours? You got what you Asked for. The day you never defended me against your ex beat me up for her? I told myself. That one day url realize only the good I did but always saw the bad. Always took Anita before me? If you had a kid with her TY why did you not father your kid and stick in your vows with your wife? When I knew this I gave Th true honest motherly support which url threw in my face? Now you blame me for Prison you put yourself in. We spoke about all. U never listened always your way or No way. You got your way Embrace it wether you come back or not your choice? I hate no body? Karma does what you ask of it yourself. N9 one is to blame for your thoughts and destruction?

That *"Final"* look by Harrelson portrays words that have never even been formulated by the human brain & passed to the tongue, just millions of emotions felt by the soul and the heart. I wonder if they'll ever find a voice or if those emotions are better portrayed with just *That Look*. Powerful &/emotional, love it & all it represents.

This song and the lyrics "And I'm a long way from where I was, where I need to be" are very deep in me because like many, I was once at a crossroads. I have lived with no money, no food, no family, no friends, no heat, in Dublin out of all places. A U2 fan whose dream was to work for U2, but became homeless instead... imagine that. But my life began, because I have survived, and U2 helped me. Yes, I have scars from the hunger and the abuse, but U2 has healed me. I thought the light had gone out, but it never had. U2 came back to my imagination. The conversation will be next. I am ready.

Here’s a story......so my relationship with my brother was so and so racked three instances of crappy police trials with domestic violence/Parents seperated and Brother got busted for speeding so much he did weekends and he got so mad at me over it since we lived together and so hated all of that he couldn’t wait to see me get into trouble that he went out of his way to tell me .......I’ve been to jail but no longer then 9 days but I can tell you it makes you feel like shit inside and especially all the Hastle that comes along with it not just being there but having a record and actually my best friend when to prison for two years trying to help his kid from choking then during the duration my brother had the Jezebel spirit and tried his hardest to see we fight and I go to jail that he even said he can’t wait to see me behind bars like my best friend....When people and family members or friends really don’t understand or care it hurts deep down inside so Incant imagine some people what they go through especially if they are really innocent in ways like I felt and they had to serve time anyway aslo just like my best friend Robi..His daughter also had to grow up while he was there the first two years of his life and I suffered from a torn brother brother relationship and with my parents deeply as well and myself wich hurt me all over for years and still does......when life doesn’t go to good I can tell you it hurts..I also had a neighbor who’s son died in a car accident after some family issues he was having and loss of his private business and discovery of cancer and multiple heart attacks....That guys heart is huge and that really was sad to watch him suffer..Seemed like everyone around me was going through something in some way.Even my other friend who’s son of the lady this guy was dating was talking to me about court and jail and as he drove off drunk crash wrecked the poor guys work van through a sheriffs yard and tree and ended up in jail for maybe the 6th dui and he is a year younger then me at the time.Lost houses and relationships due to drinking and driving/depression.Now to mention recently my dad ended up in jail after I use to drive him home from the bar and I was out Uber driving he slipped up and ended up in the county jail for a dui...he’s been hangin on the bottle ever since the divorce even before but worse now that to the point Im not sure if he’s mentally all there......I don’t even trust him..

How is this not a movie? So much power, so much left unsaid, I need to know more. I feel, just from this little clip it would have been Oscar material. How is it I'm just seeing this now? This also would have been a perfect title for the movie.

We all remember Cheers. But some might think he wasn't acting. I think it takes a lot of talent to play a lovable fool . This is an amazing performance. Excellent song too We all know that most talented people are very damaged . Only simple people breeze through life with a smile. I envy them but i wouldn't miss being a damaged nut job for anything.

You got a face not spoiled by beauty I have some scars from where I've been You've got eyes that can see right through me You’re not afraid of anything they've seen I was told that I would feel nothing the first time I don’t know how these cuts heal But in you I found a rhyme If there is a light You can’t always see And there is a world We can’t always be If there is a dark Now we shouldn't doubt And there is a light Don’t let it go out And this is a song A song for someone This is a song A song for someone You let me into a conversation A conversation only we could make You break and enter my imagination Whatever’s in there It’s yours to take I was told I’d feel nothing the first time You were slow to heal But this could be the night If there is a light You can’t always see And there is a world We can’t always be If there is a dark Within and without And there is a light Don’t let it go out And this is a song A song for someone This is a song This is a song for someone Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah And I’m a long way From your hill of Calvary And I’m a long way From where I was, where I need to be If there is a light You can’t always see And there is a world We can’t always be If there is a kiss I stole from your mouth And there is a light Don’t let it go out

Stunning. Always loved Woody's acting and integrity not only as such, but his human condition, nature. The very reason I'm certain Bono/U2 chose him to be the main character in this powerful video. The final scene of all reuniting with his daughter in utter shame...then her complete forgiveness brings tears to my eyes every time I watch this...truly incredible reality of circumstance...and of how life itself can work in so many ways...

That little moment at 3:35 was a masterpiece; he sees the younger kid, probably reminding him of himself 20 or 30 years prior, just walking in after having done what we he’d done. The way he looks at him like he wants to say something to him but doesn’t have time and can’t even find the right words. Perfect.

Such a beautiful video.!! Being in a box you call home is not normal, but sad that it becomes a place to be comfortable. How so many can relate to the video. Seeing the new man come in as you leave. Being so scared of freedom that when Woody hits the fence you can understand so well. Choices bring us there but new choices and for me with Gods help we can all become humble and see our children grow beautifully. That box made me who I am now and yes I learned from my mistakes. Now let Love be your guide. With my deepest Respects.
